Alice in Wonderland – VFX Breakdown
Posted in: 1Feedback for portfolio site
Posted in: Demo Reels!I’m currently a digital media graduate student and I want to be a compositor.
Now I’m working on my demo reel and portfolio website. In my website there will be 3 tabs: demo reel, portfolio, resume. For demo reel, I know that I should pick 3-4 best shots and breakdown. But for portfolio tab, I don’t know should I put all my work in it, because some of them are not visual effects related (game for example), also there are some short films I wrote, directed 3 years ago that contain immature visual effects. Somebody suggested me create another tab called side work and those stuff in that.
What do you think?
Thanks
HD 1280×720 + City/Alleyway pics?
Posted in: The PadRequirements:
some foreground elements (stacked boxes, dumpsters, anything so its just not flat)
1280×720 and up is best
A real photo, not a cartoonish or obviously painted one (well done matte paintings are cool)
PREFERABLY not alot of shadows being cast, this is more of a best case scenario though, Itd just be n ice to not have to paint them out 😛
basically Im going to make a cleanplate version and do some camera projection so i can have a small camera move with paralax, probably add pipes and stuff on a plane in the models, and change the season or feel of the pic (end result is going to have two guys keyed out of a greenscreen talking and one is showing off weapons in an iron man 2 -esque style [like when hes in his lab trying to find a new element – http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=T0eCJ…eature=related ] but instead it will be a hologram tnak rotating on a tracked hand with information coming up when the actor "touches" different parts)
Anyone have any ideas where i could find a few images to work with? looked on google images but couldnt find any high res decent photos.
Cheers!

grain matching question
Posted in: NUKE from The FoundryWhen matching the grain from a plate to a CG object, is it better to match grain THEN blur or Add blur THEN match grain?
Although I’ve done this both ways, i wanted to see how the pros would suggest this. I am looking for the best approach to a seamless composite.
thanks,
Lou

I know how to do it manually in premiere or ae. It would just be cool if there were a plugin where you could choose how many rows and columns and what videos go where and how they move.
Do I need to just get pinnacle or do it manually? What is that called?
