Autodesk Labs, Photofly

This one definitely looks interesting than Autodesk Image Modeler, I think if this picks up and with few advanced features it could be surely used for camera projection. I would like to hear some thoughts on this.

invisibility flag

Hey!!
I have this group in which I want to show and hide knobs using python … pretty easy …
(example –> KNOB.clearFlag(1024))
BUT, I can’t show or hide the knobs that have been picked, only the ones I created using the ‘manage user knobs’ interface …

Any ideas/solutions around?

Thanks,

My Graduation Demoreel

Hi all, i’ve been on this forum for a while. I’ve been really hesitant on posting my reel, but now I need some critique and advice.

I graduated from The Art Institute of Vancouver a while back for VFX. Here’s my demo:

And by the way: a HUGE THANKS to all members of VFXTalk. This reel could NOT have been possible had it not been for the support in this forum.

I graduated as a 2D generalist (i guess), but the thing is, I am deeply into tracking and matchmoving, and I want to specialize in that.

After graduation, which was like in mid-March, I took a contract job as a junior compositor working on game cinematics. Now that is done, I am wanting to look for another job.

The problem is however, during my time working for this, I’ve gained more knowledge about the principles of matchmoving. So much that i feel that’s the only thing I can do comfortably. I mean before this, I was pretty good with roto, but now i don’t even know if I can do that well…

I want to be able to say “yeah i can do roto/jr compositing work”, but now I am terribly hesitant about it.

So i ask the VFXTalk community: what do you think of my reel, and my skills shown in this reel? What do you all feel i should work on?

Thank you all again.

Nick Knight: free Lady Gaga posters x 30

I like this idea. London based SHOWstudio and Nick Knight are sequentially releasing 30, A4 posters as free downloads. When combined together these posters will form a giant poster of a Lady Gaga photo taken by Nick Knight; a unique visual ‘remix’ of the original cover art. A new poster will be available for […]

Edouard Salier & Digital District for Justice ‘Civilization’

Despite his hectic commercial career, Edouard Salier always seems to find the time for passion projects (see Massive Attack’s ‘Atlas Air‘ and ‘Splitting the Atom‘ as some recent examples) that are delivered with the same scope and precision as his more healthily funded films.

This piece is, what is evolving to be, classic Salier. Abstract, iconic and visually reduced narratives balanced with lush, textural details that tackle tales of mythic proportion. Take a few minutes out from your Friday to take a journey through the history of civilization as realized via Edouard and a pack of wild Buffalo.
