time manipulation problem in nuke

preveiosly i use fusion for my freelance project after hearing from lots of user i want to shift to nuke. i find it more simple and powerful then fusion but for one thing i have problem i cant solve time manipulation problem e.g. take particular time segment from whole footage

so, i would be grateful if you please solve my problem

G-tech G-Speed ES Pro RAID problem

Hey guys,

I have a G-Technology G-Speed ES Pro 4 disk 4TB RAID 0 which is connected to my PC via a RAID controller card and miniSAS connector . The machine itself is an Intel Core 2 Quad 2.8GHz, 8GB ram running Windows 7 . The G-Speed ES Pro on paper gets around 400MB/s transfer speed, which a quick benchmark I did confirmed .

Historically I have always rendered out .png (when .exr is not needed) sequences from 3D and comp tools but found when trying to read and write them to the RAID I was not getting any particular performance boost . In fact I noticed on one particularly long render job it was taking longer to write the frames to disk than to render the frames !

On a hunch I thought I would try another format like .tga and immediately I had a very clear increase in speed and was able achieve realtime playback of these images sequences up to 2k . I was never able to do this with .png .

So I am wondering, is there something inherently difficult in working with .png format such as there being a processing bottleneck to deal with the compression ?
Could it be that my stripe size is too big/small ?
Is there another format I should consider such as .sgi ?
Is something else at work here that I haven’t considered ?

Any thoughts would be greatly appreciated .

i have this shot where this actor have a rig below his T-shirt and that is extruding frm his T-shirt too….so its need to be smoothed and made to be like if there were no rig…plz help me m stuck with this..coz i know i have to ward a clean plate of T-shirt there…but as u can see there is not enough data to clone and so its hard to make a clean plate of that T-shirt…so plz help me guys

Autodesk Matchmover freezing

hi i need some help or advice. im having a problem with matchmover where it is literally freezing, if i try to move in the window, like zoom in or pan, the only fix is to start task manager switch to another program then switch back to matchmover and not pan or zoom, but this is really frustrating especially when trying to place track points.

is anyone else having this problem and does anyone know a solution? i have my images cached. but im thinking that maybe my image sequence is just to big for matchmover to cope. 🙁

Yeah, I had to face challenge that my friend gave me.

He requires an real time interface turnable with a 3d female model whose dimensions should be changeable (like a thin lady to a fat lady by adjusting only the required parts like waist etc.).

In addition to that we have a library of 3d dresses so that we can drag and drop them on the 3d female model.

When ever we change a the size of the model., for example we increase the size of the waist automatically the dress should fit there or expand there, but the texture should not be deformed.

How can I solve this problem?

Houdini Fireball Problems

I am gearing up for a new scene + tutorial to go along with it as I am learning about PyroFX. The shot is basically going to be a large explosion that is visible from space and clears out some cloud layers with a blast wave as well as some scorched earth effects. The only problem is, when I try to make my fireball localized for some test shots (I am trying to use a box that is close to the surface for now), nothing happens. Big fat nada. If I use the sphere that I am using for the planetary surface it works, but not the box or grid.

Anyone have any ideas on why this would be?

On a side note, if anyone can direct me to some great fireball tutorials for Houdini, I would love to get some assistance from some other aspects from there.

When I put together the tutorial, I want to do it as a series, so I can get a few other things put together before I need this, but it would be nice to be able to get the explosion looking right.
