compositing reel 2007/08

I’ve edited some of my shots from the past year (and some older ones) into a demo… I still need to cut it up a bit, and definitely change the music… but here’s a sample. Tell me what you think (mute it, if the music annoys you :))

There’s a bit too much of wire/random stuff removal in there for my taste, but what can I do, that’s most common stuff that I do 🙂

(I tried uploading a .mov but something didn’t work correctly :|)

And, oh yea…

Happy 2009!

Cheers!

Louvre Matte Painting …

Hi Everyone,
This is my first shot at creating a Matte Painting of a Deserted Louvre. I’m a FX Animator/ Particle Dynamics Animator but I thought it would be good to have some Matte Painting skills as well on my Demo Reel which I’m currently working on.I have included Before Image which is the original plate of the Louvre with tourist etc. as well as the After which is the Matte Painting I did.
I would appreciate if some of you can spend a few min to have a look and critic it and give me some suggestions / modifications which I need to work on..Since this is the 1st version I’d be happy to improvise it based on your suggestions.
Thanks.:)

After Effects Handheld Camera Script & Tutorial

Hey all, I made this awhile ago, but am still spreading the word because it is a useful piece. The decription and links are below. Thanks.

Introducing a script that creates an AE camera that not only has handheld motion, but can be easily adjusted to mimic a variety of camera motion effects like running, being on a gravel road or even being intoxicated to name a few.

The tutorials have been split into two major segments, “How To Install – Handheld Camera” covers the installation of this filter/script. It is very important that you view and follow this process before attempting to use the script. The other tutorial “How To Use The Script” helps you understand how the effect works and how it can be adjusted as well as some of itÂ’s quirks you will run into.

The tutorials are offsite, but worth looking at. 😉

Create Alien Landscape: Autodesk Competition

Create your interpretation of what an alien planet environment would look like in your mind. Let your imagination run wild and consider some factors like weather, fauna, rock formation, gravity — the combinations and possibilities are endless. What will set your planet apart from the rest?

As for tools, you must explicitly use only/or in combination any of the following software packages: 3ds Max, Maya, Softimage . Use of any other software packages for 3D content creation will disqualify your entry. For modeling, there are no limitations to techniques (ie. polygon count, numbers of objects, etc.).

The final artwork that you provide must be a rendered image (no UI screenshot with textures). You may use any image-editing software to enhance the details or effects of your final render.
