Looking for a VFX Artist to help me…

Hi, i dont know anywhere else to make this post, other than CGtalk (but got deleted to my frustration) but basically, if anyone has followed my other thread here: http://www.vfxtalk.com/forum/possibl…ng-t17800.html

i am looking for someone who can help me model a kind of facial damage near to the left eye, like bruises, gash or something very much like this if one can replicate it:

http://www.studiomonnot.com/face.html

keeping it real is important 😀 for those who didnt follow, basically i am doing a small practice and experiment that hopefully if all goes well will be implemented for a small project of mine or that im involve in. i have already created a head model for the actress and a UV Map Layout is on its way to which i will provide, where this will be tracked on the person’s face and blend in seamlessly to give that overall effect that this person has been abused 😀

sorry if the title is abit misleading, but im pretty sure that is a general term. also, if anyone can advice me on as such on this, please dont be afriad of my idiosm 😀 or anything else come forward.

Look forward wearing from all of you, and i thought i would like to take this time to thank Seriphu who has helped me greatly on this and ongoing as well.

Fake Global/Occlusion

Hey,

I was recently wondering if Fusion can duplicate spotlights using Duplicate function, and to my surprise it can. So, the first thing I could think of is some sort of fake Global/Occlusion lighting.

Here are some examples, and comp for you to learn.

Online MFA [visual effects] degree

I’m wondering which schools offer online diploma study for visual effects and animation ?
I studied graphic dsign, and I want to do my master on visual effects, however, I’m not sure about the goods/pros/cons about an online class.

I found academyart has online classes, but I could not find any information about their admissions.

HD Encoding Recomendations, what I should use?

Hi everyone

I was wondering if you could help me to solve a tricky mistery, at least for me, I’m about to distribute an animation to a couple of friends and maybe other people, I made the video in HD(1080p), rendered, compossed and edited. Now I have a uncompressed format from the video, but I don’t know what kind of codec or tools, I need to make it playable to almost averyone who has mac or pc without the lossing of so much quality, I plan to burn the video as a file and if necessary add the right tools to be seen.

What is what you suggest that I should use? I heard something about H.264, MPG4, Divx, Procoder, Rhozet Carbon Coder, Cinema Craft Encoder, among others, but it is harder to take a good decision, What I would like that my friends experiment when they put the CD/DVD inside their computers, is an ease of use, and a good quality video and playback, I will burn 2 or 3 diferent formats maybe.

I really hope that you can help me or suggest something to me,

ok cya, nice day and best wishes for 2009 year!

DOF match

I want to learn how to match the added 3d elemnts’ DOF with the footage’s.

I’m using C4D and AE.

Full CG (first expierence)

Well, I decided to start my first full cg fotorealistic shot (or 3-5 shots). I watched a many BTS from diferent studios and I think – “Wow, this shot looks pretty, may be I can create something like this!” And I want to lern new (for me) software, like XSI and VUE. So, this is my first models, which I was created in XSI (my hero is train) and VUE (for Environment). All that I have now, was created for previz. After my previz, I will start to setting up all scenes for final compositing.

resizing source for 3d card

hi there Nuke magicians,
this is my first post here although I’m reading through this forum for a while.

When I’ve built a complex script with more then 50 cards (PSD layers as source through Project3D node) I’ve decided that I have to scale-up (extend left, riht, up & down) my source file ’cause I need a wider shot. Now when I reload PSD layers back, they seems to be moved out of it original place (actually scaled down to fit original bbox).

I suspect it’s something connected with pivots and formats and reminds me to what would happen in 3d app (texture would conform to 0,1 uv range).
When I had a similar scenario with AE 3D layers everything worked fine when reloaded back.

Basically, what I’d like to have is everything in place on cards as originally, only extended in all 4 directions same like in PSD file.

I tried to use crop and bbox node but it wouldn’t help me.

Is there a quick fix without re-doing the whole comp from begining?
Can someone explain me the concept of format in this case, please because I’m quiet new to Nuke?
