Realflow difficulty

Hey,
I just imported a animtion into RF from Maya but what it does in RF is in the viewport it displays the details of the imported file which disables me to look at whats happening behind.Being a new user I cant get a option to hide these viewport details. Can anyone tell me how to hide them?

Locator3D clarification

Hey guys, long time Shake user now at a studio with Fusion and trying to get my head around it. I figure I have bothered the guys over at pigsfly enough for one week, so here I am!

I am trying to nut out some 3D tracking issues. We are doing a few sky replacements on some aeriel landscape shots. I have run the footage through Syntheyes and output a Fusion5 comp, so no issues there.

However, I am wanting to use a couple of the null markers on the horizon to help with roto. I have tried the 3D roto kludge on the VFXpedia website and it seems to crach my Fusion (5.21) so we resorted to more basic methods.

Am I correct in saying that the Locator3D node can take 3D co-ords and make them available to 2D nodes in Fusion? And, more specifically, will it give *animated* results?

That is, there is ZERO point in having the co-ords of a tracking marker or Locator3D if it doesn’t "move". Obviously, the null markers don’t move; they are the "ground". The camera is the thing that moves. What I need is really the data of the Locator3D *after* looking through the camera, if that makes sense.

To get the position data at the moment I am resorting to attaching a 3D object to the null markers and then tracking those after the 3Drender node! Obviously this is not ideal and I get the feeling that I am wasting perfectly fine tracking data.

I’ll be honest here, tracking in Fusion has been chaffing my ass for the last week and it would be great if I can get some insight before the weekend so I will not blow a gasket!

Cheers

Matt

About Pixelux Entertainment: The company was founded in 2003 with the intent to develop a unique real-time material physics simulation technology called "Digital Molecular Matter" or DMM. In 2005 Pixelux partnered with LucasArts to integrate DMM into the best-selling game: Star Wars the Force Unleashed. This exclusivity contract expired in November 2008 after the release of the game. Since then, two DMM plug-ins have been released: for Autodesk Maya and for Autodesk 3d Studio Max and DMM has been integrated into two popular game engines: Trinigy’s Vision 7 and Emergent’s Gamebryo. Pixelux has also announced a joint development agreement with AMD to run DMM in OpenCL and integrate it with the open source Bullet Physics engine.

Nuke won’t start on iMac i7, help!

Hi all!

So I’ve just received a shiny new workstation, the new 27" Imac with the i7 cpu, sweet!

I install Nuke 5.2v3, then go to run it… icon "zooms" as if to start, then nothing.

Ok, so I install 5.2v1… same thing, not even a mention in the Activity Monitor.

So, I decide to "nuke" the HDD and do a clean install of OSX.

Restart, install Nuke 5.2v3 again, launch, same result! Zoom, then nothing.

Am I missing something?

Does Nuke not work with the i7 CPU’s or something?

I have it running on my MBP w/snow leopard just fine. And I have installed it many times without this issue.

Has anyone else come across this? I have a pretty heavy deadline, and this was my saviour… seems like I’m done for! 😉

Any help greatly appreciated!

Cheers.

Hair Detail in Clean-up shot..how?

Hello everyone,

I have this shot, where I need to do some clean-up work and I thought I will ask for any advices how to go about it..

The idea of this shot is that the guy stands up from the table and sees that he is the last one in the room, after nodding his head he leaves the frame .. Now when I filmed this there were few people in the shot and since I could not do anything about it I had to just get the take, and with hopes that I will deal with it later on in post.. and now I came to that point..

the shot is 325 frames long.. I’ve done some cleaning work before, so creating a clean plate isn’t an issue.. What’s an issue is I don’t quite know how to deal with the hair.. coz the actors moves threw all the clean-plate patches straight roto seems to be not the best solution to go with (since there is a lot of detail in the hair).. is there any other techniques/ways to deal with it? Any thoughts are welcomed and would be really appreciated..

screengrab attached (red areas would be the patches)
