PFtrack & wide clip

Hi all,

I have just a question:

When I import clip in PFTRACK Pal wide or 1440×1080, it not seems wide, seem always 4:3, and it’s a problem for tracking, can you help me with this problem!

optimising render for clouds in maya

Im about to start a heavy render of clouds in maya 2010, was wondering if anyone had any pointers or cautions before i get heavy into my render. Any problems with it? Whats a good setting to get high qulity and less render time?

Making a character disappear in dolly shot

I’m trying to shoot a scene which basically involves a dolly shot around an empty desk, behind which i want a character to materialize, mid-shot.

my means are pretty limited and i’m wondering whether anyone has any suggestions on the most effective way of approaching this shot. i did think of throwing in an object into the shot, such as a computer screen to briefly obscure the chair, giving the actor time to jump into the shot, but i’d rather have the actor literally dissolve into the empty chair.

is there any way of achieving this without using an electronic dolly? or should i basically try to wing dolly speed / direction in two shots and hope that it matches, and then perhaps try to touch it up in post?

any suggestions would be greatly appreciated!

Keying out clear items

Hi guys,

I’m going to be working on a project where I have have a scientist on gs. He will be in front of some Beakers, however I’m trying to figure out that when I go to key my GS it will key the beakers to, thus eliminating the caustic type effect when he looks through it or something is in there, what do you guys recommend of a to work around this, so that it still gives the same effect.

what motion capture device should a company consider and how to use 3dmax with them?

The company i’m working for is considering buying a character motion capture device, what specifications should i look at when searching for such device and how do you use it with 3dmax?

I need to know the specs of the available hardware, what specs are important and how to work with it in 3dmax

I have no experience using motion capture so i would also appreciate any links to overviews/tutorials/articles
