Multiple GPUs with Maya

Hey guys,

I ‘ve just installed a GFX285 on my Mac Pro 8 cores 2009 on the slot 1 (with 2 Dell u2410 connected to it) and the GT120 on slot 2 (since I plan u start using Resolve). I’m quite new to Maya (I’ve been mostly doing compositing stuff in Nuke/Shake) so I’d like to ask u guys a few questions!

I noticed that the render time with Mental Ray remained the same after I installed the GFX285 and was a little dissapointed since I thought the render time would decrease with the new card.

How I can make sure that Maya is using the GFX285 and not the GT120? Do I need to configure something in Maya to have a gain in performance? Is it possible to use both cards together? What’s the best way to set this up?

Cheers

F5: SOLD OUT (Kind Of)

Got ya and it’s not even April Fool’s yet. 🙂 The scale has been ‘tipped’ and we’ve sold out our early tickets.

What’s surprising is the response from other creative communities; not only have the motionographers come out in support, but there’s also been an unprecedented response from creatives in fashion, fine art, publishing… even pharmaceutical marketing. You all share the desire to break out of this harsh winter and start the spring anew. Happy.

Regular tickets are now available at the price of $480; student tickets at a reduced rate of $280. These prices will remain until the end of the festival.

Tune in next week for another announcement—this time about what’s surely on everyone’s minds…

Pressure alter defaults for clone tool

Hi there, I am trying to paint a few frames but the pressure alters are set so that the opacity button is clicked and I cannot unclick it until I paint a stroke–every single stroke. How can I fix these defaults and is there a way to go between them before I actually make my stroke?

Also, has anyone else noticed a strange bug if you put two roto paints one after the other? Just curious. Thx!
