Free Canon 5D footage with Chroma

Hello guys. I’ve found original video footage. If you need an original Canon 5D video footage for video and VFX practicing, you can download it here for free in this website:

There are some war scenes and a chroma background. Seems perfect for keying.

here I insert a youtube preview. The final filesize is about 300 megs downloadable on the website.

compositing 3d info into a shot with a complex camera move

i’m a novice compositer that is coming over from a 3d world, and i have a scene in mind that i am using a pre-shot plate (found it on line) and chromakeying it, then redoing the environment in 3d. the shot is a rather compelx one with quite a bit of camera movement that would be difficult to replicate in 3d studio. the shot is going to require my character to be surrounded by a fume solution, which i know how to do, but i don’t know how i should go about tracking the fume solution into the scene.

the shot dollys toward the character, then moves past her, rotating around her while panning up and tilting down to keep her in the center of the frame. I am getting a decent motion track in nuke, but i have no idea how i am going to put the fume solution in.

my instinct is to find a way to duplicate the camera data from nuke into max, render my frames then recomposite it back in. i know that nuke won’t accept the fluid solution data from fume, so i am really at a loss here.

ROTO JOBS

I’ve been looking for a new project to get attached to, and throughout my search I keep coming across "Roto Artists Needed" jobs that Require up to 2-3 years of roto experience…
What type of roto requires 2-3 years of experience lol??
Just curious if this is out of my league or if these HR peeps are out of their bloddy minds.

Fx & Mat: Coke “Siege”

If you tuned into Superbowl 2011, you may have seen a slew of dazzling commercials that caught your eye. Here at Motionographer, we where particularly impressed by the latest from Fx & Mat, Coke Siege. As luck would have it, we were fortunate enough to rope the directors in for an exclusive interview about the teams latest piece (full interview below).

“Our intention was to make an epic film using the codes of the fantasy world. As illustrators ourselves we love the energy we see in concept art for films, books and games and we thought this project had great potential for bringing that into motion. We wanted illustrated landscapes, integrating the characters as much as possible with their environment. Wherever possible, we wanted to use graphic tricks to create depth – using atmospheric depth and coloured haze, rather than very photographic optical depth of field.”

Happy NBA All-Star Weekend Friday from Superfad, Spike Lee and Charles Barkley

In the lead-up to LA hosting the upcoming NBA All-Star weekend, Superfad has released a pretty ridiculous montaged bastardization of pop culture references to result in some good, light-hearted mograph fun.

Working with existing footage Spike Lee had shot, Cool and Dre remixed the audio/edit to create a track and then the crew at Superfad LA went to town on the footage, which for those who know Barkley’s persona in the US, is a rather fitting graphic representation of his unpredictable and outspoken reputation. Goodbye TNT, hello Def Jam.
