For my last scene, I use Maya to do a texture projection. And then use Maya fluid to create different kinds of smoke and dust. After that I use Nuke and After Effect to work on the colour matching, key out the green and bring all the element together.

My background is a video game artist, but I have displayed a great passion and dedication to creating high detailed texture and matte painting. Please give me some feedbacks. And I will do better in the future.

Using program: Maya, Nuke X, After Effect, Premiere Pro, Photoshop, ZBrush.:)

VFX Short film – Schism

This is my VFX short film for my school project. And I would like to share to everyone.

My story is about a soldier named Joseph who belongs to a special unit. His last assignment is to kill a drug dealer. Joe is given an order to kill everyone in the drug dealer’s house. When he walks inside the house, he notices many woman and children are also in the house. He cannot stop his team to kill the children. He is subconsciously feeling guilty. He cannot go back to battle field and he starts to take drug which he believes will make he forgets what he did. The drug has side effects. Delusions. Joseph experiences the side-effects, but he is also remembering the past murders. He cannot tell them apart. As the hallucination become increasingly bizarre.

Is it possible to rename the 3d tracks ?

Hello,

Is it possible to rename some of the 3d tracks after a camera solve? Reason is that when I export the FBX to Maya I end up with lots of locators and I have to figure out which locator I was interested in and delete the rest of the tracks of the point cloud.

Work arounds so far
1. Place a card in Nuke on the tracks which I want and delete all the tracks in Nuke itself. Use card as reference.
2. In Maya, delete the unwanted locaters via outliner.

NEW VIDEO POST: Autodesk Smoke: Removing Grain

Hi Everyone,

I hope that you have all had a great week!!!

I have posted a new video – Autodesk Smoke: Removing Grain

Do your images have too much grain? Autodesk Smoke is designed to deal with a variety of formats, including grainy ones. The Denoise tool can help you reduce grain while still keeping the picture sharp – the ultimate goal of degraining.

Check this fabulous tool out at: http://area.autodesk.com/blogs/discreetuk

All feedback and requests are always welcome and loads more to come!

Have a great weekend!

Grant

Remember last knob values in Rotopaint for the next stroke??

Hi, I’m trying to figure out how to configure one stroke in Rotopaint and maintain the same knob vales for each new stroke.

I know I can configure menu.py but what about doing some strokes one way and next ones another??

Doing nuke.knobDefault(… only affects the first stroke in a new created node…

Any suggestion??

Thanks.

Zoom factor / high ISO rendering of shopping cart silhouette

Hi!

I’m trying to redo in LW so I can give it an interesting 3D angle, kinda like – equivalent to high ISO on digital cameras I’d reckon.

I remember getting a similar effect years ago by increasing the zoom factor on my camera, which would bring the object in closer, and then I’d move the object away and it’d get all these sweet crazy angles. But now I’m not getting that. Have I forgotten something?

Would appreciate design advice / directions as well.

Many thanks!
