Nuke-to-Maya Pipeline – PLEASE HELP!

I’m working on a matchmove project and I have to pull the 3D track in Nuke, but my coworker needs to do his animation, lighting, and texturing in Maya 2011.

Every tutorial I ever see covers moving from Maya to Nuke, but not vice versa.

Some things to know before you comment:

Yes, I’ve used the writeGeo node
Yes, I’ve downloaded the Nuke-to-Maya python script from Nukepedia. They both technically work, I can import that scene, but it seems to import all screwy in scale, and my ground plane is never oriented properly in Maya so the objects will slide.

To be honest, as much as I love Nuke, they don’t seem to take the larger pipeline into consideration when designing this suite. Getting it into Maya is an obnoxious process, and they could take a page or two out of PFTrack’s or Boujou’s books where you can just export a .ma with your scene all set up already.

Balloon Project WIP

Hi there,

this is a project i have been working on for my show reel, since I am working on this from home and don’t have the benefit of having dailies. I would love to have some feedback about what I have so far.

In a manner of breakdown, for this shot I have done sky replacement, keying of talents in the ground and in the balloon, CGI balloon and talents integration. Though I am not looking for work as a 3d artist I have also done the 3D elements.

Thank you in advance for any feedback and advice!
