Boujou to Maya Import problem *URGENT*

I’m having a tracking problem on one of my tracks from Boujou to Maya. The track is perfect in boujou, 24 fps, assessed lens distortion, test objects staying put etc. When I bring it into Maya the objects begin to float and don’t stay tracked.

Anyone know the problem? I made sure the fps were the same from Boujou to Maya, and also rendered the lens distorted tiff sequence from boujou to Maya.

I’m completely lost at this point and not sure where to go considering the lack of boujou training materials. I’ve asked my friends, posted on other forums, and even contacted a couple old professors with no response. This project is due Thurs.

Any help greatly appreciated.
Added are my project files (tiff sequences and boujou 5 file) if that helps.

After Effects 720p Please Help!

So I’ve had After Effects for a while, I rendered a 10 second clip in 1080i HD, and the file size was 1.62GB! So I was wondering if I put it in 720p it would shrink the file in QuickTime (+ please post how I can shrink the file using different settings!)
Thankyou :bomb:

Python button inside DAG?

Is there a way to create a nuke button actually inside the DAG? I guess you’d have to double click on it to run it as single click is for moving it around..

Totally expecting the answer to be no, but it’d be cool.. thanks.

How did they do this?

Ok, new to VFX here. Got 2 questions on this video on how the effects were done.

1. Did they use a green/blue screen for background set?
2. What compositing programme did they use?

Thanks in advance.:D

Write node file knob gives error

I’m trying to learn some basics in Python, and it’s slowly moving ahead by searching this forum. But now I’ve run into a problem. I’m trying to create a write node and set the file knob to the correct path, but it gives me an error. This is the code:

Code:

def autoWrite():

path = "[python {'/'.join(nuke.root()['name'].value().split('/')[0:-3])}]/renders/nuke/[string trim [file tail [value root.name]] .nk]/[string trim [file tail [value root.name]] .nk]_####.exr"
nuke.createNode("Write").knob('file').setValue(path)

If I run this code I get an error saying "IndentationError: expected an indented block". Although, if I remove the "def autoWrite" in the beginning the code works. Problem is that I need to def autoWrite for it to work with my menu.py file.

The path takes the current position of the nuke script and automatically creates render locations for the script.

chunky mesh fix?

hi

every so often im given a job where i have to do fine detail on a smooth curved model

as you realize parts that have a hard edge i need to bump up the detail with edges and push them closer together.

the problem is (especially on rounded out areas) all that extra geometry often gives me a rippled or chunky look

you can see in the image i attached. keep in mind what i started with was a sphere, once i added more geometry it distorted it

i want to know what can i do to avoid that
any type of help will be considered, weather it’s exporting to another program, using a 3d scanner, using one of those programs that make 2d pictures into 3d geometry
im open to anything
thanks
