SplineWarp kills motion blurred Text – Work around?

Hey guys,

I have a Text node that goes into a Transform and then into a SplineWarp. I have motion blur set to 1 on the Transform and before it gets to the SplineWarp it looks awesome. But, once it gets to the SplineWarp, the motion blur is gone. The only way that I have found to bring the motion blur back is to render out my text and read it back in as a still. That way the motion blur sticks, but I have a ton of text I have to work with, so this method sucks. Do you guys know how I can fix this?

Thanks ahead of time,
Andrew

$400 – Artist to create rendered 3D font/splash screen logo – killzone 2 style

I’m looking for an artist to create a rendered splash screen/logo for a video game presentation. The image consists of top-down view of a street texture covered in debris after an explosion. Pieces of bricks, bullet holes, cracked cement, rubble, some blood.. Overtop of this back drop is the somewhat-3d text in an industrial font. Art direction is very gritty, dark, war torn look ala Killzone 2. No characters (except for a mask on the ground). Will need a 2nd version identical but with different word in the font.

Needs to look rendered/somewhat photo real.. not painted.

Pays $400.

Thanks for looking!

LAIKA/house for Planters

LAIKA/house animation director, Mark Gustafson (fresh off his work as animation director for Fantastic Mr. Fox), teams up with Ringan Ledwidge to create a great stop motion spot for Planters. A nice departure from the old look for Planters, this spot evolves the brand into a more quaint and charming style. There is also a making-of video which includes both a real making of and an additional mock making of brought to you by Mr. Peanut, whose voice was brought to life for the very first time in the brands history by Mr Robert Downey Jr.

Enjoy

The Klaxons: Twin Flames and the rise of the NSFW video

1989 was a big year. It marked the fall of the Berlin wall, the year of the first ever liver transplant, and the release of “Like a Prayer” by Madonna. It was also the year that Brian Yuzna’s revealed his twisted fantasy horror “Society” to the world.

Once seen, never forgotten, it’s certainly stuck in the mind of London-based music video director Saam Farahmand (Simian Mobile Disco – Cruel Intentions, The XX – Islands, Soulwax – Part of the Weekend Never Dies) with his most recent video for long-time collaborators The Klaxons.

Interestingly, considering Society was so highly acclaimed for its make-up and physical effects, Farahmand has chosen to execute his video with clever use of motion control rigs and computer blending. Using techniques of the modern combined with inspiration from the old, Saam creates a wonderful homage to “Society” in this no-holds-barred NSFW video for the band.

This piece also highlights the current trend in directors and commissioners being able to push the censorship boundaries. Although there have always been controversial promos, it begs the question as to whether the MTV censors are factoring as highly in creative decisions now that we have the level playing field of the online community, or, dare I say it, are more controversial videos being commissioned in order to stand out from the online crowd and rack up the hits?

Containing nudity and graphic scenes, this wonderfully executed piece transports you into a world where flesh is as versatile as rubber. Hold onto your hats! It’s a twisted triumph.

Nuke Flame Connect, python script

Hey,

i finally released my first nuke python script at nukepedia:

Flame Connect lets you connect Nodes on the DAG like in Batch or action within flame.

add those lines into your menu.py in your nuke folder:

import flameConnect

nodeMenu = nuke.menu(‘Nuke’)

nodeMenu.addCommand (‘flameConnect’, ‘flameConnect.testen()’, ‘ +y’)

A demo of the script can be seen here:

http://www.vimeo.com/17002649

How to use:

Press the y key and hover the node you want to connect over the node you want to connect it with. First input is always used first which would be the "b" pipe with a merge node.

Please note that this is my first nuke python script and there might be some bugs which I am not aware of. I only tested it under mac osx with both 32 and 64 bit nuke 6.+ , so you may test it, adjust it, give it to others and use it at your ow risk. Its still BETA

The largest scene I tested the script in had 800 nodes on DAG and it ran smooth….

There are some limitations:

mask inputs cannot be connected with the flame connect.

no hidden pipes will get activated. (like a1,a2, and so on)

scene nodes can only get 4 inputs with flame connect

nodes with more than 2 inputs like the phong node only connect the first and second input.

I hope I can fix those issues in a future release

Thats it for now. I hope you like the script and give some feedback how it worked and if you liked it.

jaden 🙂

ps:

the download link will also be posted here, since they didnt get it online till now.
a special thanks is to alkali for his hep in thenuke scripting section!!! thank you man
