Realistic skin shader

Hi guys check out 3d max mental ray realty skin shader,Finally i got skin shader tut from youtube, i recreated shader adding some advance settings to look more realty.

Peeling Bottle

Hi,

I have been trying to achieve a peeling effect for a while now in 3DS Max but appears there is no sensible way to do this. Any suggestions on how to do this?

Here is what I was able to do:

How I achieved it:
– Used extruded Helix to imprint (Pro Booleans) on the bottle.
– Created bones along the helix
– Created Spine IK
– Skinned the bottle (Painful process)

Problem: When I animated the points created from the Spline IK, the bones would get all twisted and stuff – hence the foil look.

Any suggestions on how to achieve all of this easier?

Hey all,

I am trying to figure out if there is a way for me to get my particles to turn into individual objects that I can put into Rayfire or a reactor system. I have a car that I want to turn into a bunch of cubes and fall to the ground, but I don’t think that PFsource will allow much in the way of collision with a plane.

Any thoughts?

Animation but no keyframes

Hello all,

I am still new to 3ds Max, and I am wondering if anyone would be able to help with this (probably) really easy question. I downloaded a model from turbosquid to mess around with and I noticed that there are some aspects of the model that are animated, but I can’t find any keyframes anywhere. For example, the eyeballs of the character move from left to right a few times, but the eyeballs themselves have no keyframes for rotation or anything.

Any ideas?

speed, style, simplicity or complexity, etc…

Pheonix simulator

You simulate in realtime, 2 times faster then Fumefx, 4 times faster then Mayas fluids. They say that all in the video. Anyone tried it? Much easier to setup. Its so easy it makes me cry that I was learning dynamics for 1 year.

By this video any monkey can do explosions now 🙂

I didnt used mayas fluids yet but I know fumefx needs ages to simulate and then I had a 5 gig file of simulation data, altrought the results look so so not unbelivible impressive from this vidoes.
