NUKE to After Effects (frames dropping)

Hello,

I’m having issues regarding choppy output (frames being dropped) from AfterEffects CS4.

I’ve rendered my reel out from NUKE using the following settings:
resolution is 720×405
file type: tiff
data type: 16bit
compression: none

Total size image sequence output from NUKE is …. 3.86GB …..1-2372 images.

In AfterEffects CS4, I just put it together and add some audio, create a render queue:
Output Module>Format>Quicktime Movie
Output Module>Video Output>Animation (quality: best)
Output Module>Audio Output> Best

Frames are dropping like crazy.
Is this due to the massive 3.86 GB image sequence?

Should I render out of nuke with at least some compression?
I just want to avoid image degradation at all cost..

Please advise on a suitable compression that will not harm my sequence too much out of NUKE if this is indeed the solution.

Thank You

splaying nodes

can someone please explain to me how the splay function works.
to me, it seems to be mislabeled as I dont see any of the spreading out of nodes that you would expect to see

Weird pixels on 3D render

Hi guys,

I am making a Solar System Animation for my work.
I used couple of point lights and 3d spheres for planets.
When I render them out, I see weird white pixels on 3d spheres.
It is like dead pixels on LCD monitor. I tried to turn Antialiasing on or off.
Also, I tried to increase the number of samples from MultiSample.
I can’t fix it. What is wrong with this?
Thank you.

Custom Enumerators in Gizmos

Just found a little problem with Nuke..

I have a gizmo whose has enumerators whose choices changes.

When you save the nuke script it doesn’t save the new choices.

So if I have an enumerator in the gizmo which changes from:
"Icecream, Sandwich, Drink"

to:
"Popsicle, Burger, Fries"

It only saves the choice "Fries". When it then tries to reopen the file it defaults to the enumator defaults and produces an error because "Fries" isn’t in the "IceCream…" list.

Any ideas?

Nothing is named “input0.first”

I am simply trying to resave an image, every time it renders (locally) I get this message; Nothing is named "input0.first"

Ubisoft Montreal Annual Convention Opening

You know how it is. Everything is calm. The pace, relaxed. Maybe you’ll write a little email to your mum, letting her know how special—

BAM! The shit hits the fan. Demands on your creative powers are being made from some shadowy force on high, and you jump into high gear, riding that familiar blend of adrenalin and caffeine that all creative workers know too well.

That experience is brilliantly encapsulated by this opening for the Ubisoft Montreal Annual Convention. Conceived by Greg Barth and Noé Sardet under the direction of Emmanuel Sevigny, the project is a stop-motion ride through the creative process from conceptualization to delivery.

Favorite moments: the error message during the blender sequence, the post-it note reading “Find money and weapons” and the elegantly executed end-tag.

The sound design, created by Ubisoft, really pushes this to the next level (as all good sound design does), exaggerating the action and creating striking contrasts throughout the project.
