how to blast a car inside maya without crashing maya

i have a scene in which a missile hit a car and car blown out in pieces realistically
wot should i use to stimulate car blast in debris
1) maya particles to blow the car pieces
2) any plugin to blow car

Indie music label Bar None Records is looking to commission a seasoned compositor for their most popular musician. THe song is a cover of Johnny Cash’s ever popular "Get Rhythm" record.

Candidates should be experienced in Nuke or Shake. Must be comfortable in quick turnarounds and professional workflows. Video’s director is New York based but access to candidates own ftp is fine.

Job will consist of 2D and 3D elements evoking a vintage Chicago Blues vibe. Candidates enthusiastic about the Blues genre please apply.

hdri?

I just started learning maya. One tutorial I’m taking shows how to put 3d into your footage and they use an hdri they made on location as the first step to light their scene.

They did it by taking a pic or pics of a chrome ball or mirrored ball. I’ve seen this mentioned a few other times but don’t know much about it.

If I have already filmed can I use an hdri that is similar to my scene to light my object?

Is there anywhere I can learn how to do this with the mirrored ball?
