Getting Access to ToolCenter Position via Python

Hi Guys,
I would like to change the x,y values from the tool center key. But i can’t figure it out. All the other things like Clipname or Size is pretty easy but getting the right Key and especially setting the values is a bit confusing via GetAttrs() and SetAttrs().

Would be happy about some ideas 🙂

Render Problems

I am working my way through the tutorials on lynda.com to teach myself nuke and I got to rendering my first project, and nothing renders. i hit the render button in the write node and the rendering screen comes up and goes through it’s processes saying that it is rendering, but when it finishes, all i am left with is a file name like jetcomp.0001.tif.tmp and no actual tif files. just the one temp file, not even one for each image. any idea what is going on and how do i fix it?

Zoic Blow Up Simon Cowell For X Factor Promo

[NEWS=”http://www.cgnews.com/wp-content/uploads/xfactor_cowell_thumb.jpg”]30243[/NEWS]Fox’s new show The X Factor had a dramatic introduction during the Super Bowl as thousands of Xs came together to form the show’s host Simon Cowell. The reverse explosion of Cowell was produced by Fox, Three (One) O, Park Village Productions in collaboration with effects powerhouse Zoic Studios.

To create the effect, a variety of plaster forms simulating Simon Cowell’s legs, torso and head were detonated at high speed (1000-1500 fps) and shot on the Zoic Studios Stage.

A week later on a London sound stage, high-speed principal photography captured multiple angles of Simon Cowell, both static and spinning on a turntable, against an all-black environment with heavy backlight.

Additionally, Simon Cowell was 3D scanned to provide high-resolution textures for the eventual 3D model of his full body. Autodesk’s Maya was then used to fracture and explode the 3D model.

The compositing challenge was to integrate all the live-action elements from the explosion shoot, principal photography, and CG passes of Simon’s fracturing shell, individual body parts, and various “X” shapes, to create the illusion of Simon being formed from the ground up. The results were premiered during the Super Bowl and online via social media.

Workstation recommendations for Nuke

we are using AMD x2 5600 with 4GB ram what configurations are required to run nuke in realtime… in the sense in the viewer I would like to get NUKE to perform in just realtime even if its just scrubbed i would like to see that in realtime..

Im not talking of complicated networks in realtime but just footages in realtime..

Im looking for the following config

Key Purpose of the Job

To create highly detailed models suitable for use in visual effects work for film, that cover a wide range of organic and non-organic objects.

Needs To Do

The modeller will need to work very closely with the texture painters, shader writers, look development artists and the riggers to generate models that are suitable for feature film work. The models may be organic in nature, such as various creatures or characters, or they may be models of rigid objects such as cars, buildings, props or sets. They will need to make use of a wide range of reference materials. Models may need to be created from scratch or from scans, reference photography, maquettes, miniatures or other set models. They will also have to work closely with their leads to determine an appropriate level of detail for any given model. It will also be important to work closely with the riggers to produce models that meet their work flow requirements, and with texture painters to determine the optimal UV layout for a model.

Needs To Know

* Strong spatial awareness and a good sense of form, scale and proportion
* A very keen eye for detail
* A full working knowledge of modelling in any one or more of these packages: Maya, XSI and Cyslice
* Ability to work with packages such as Mudbox or Z-brush are an advantage
* Polygon and sub-division surface modelling. Knowledge of NURBS modelling is not generally required, but a plus
* How to deliver a "clean" model with tidy polygon/sub-d placement and good basic UV layout for texturing
* A good knowledge of Linux would be an advantage. Familiarity with Windows useful but not essential
* When to model detail or have the the detail added through the shading, by liasing with the shader writers and look development artists
* At least 1 years experience in feature films would be beneficial. Experience in other areas of visual effects (TV, Games) will also be taken into account

Non consecutive frames tracking

I’m tracking a scene shot with a live rain and many flash lights.
The problem is that the flashes disturbes the 3d tracking in a disatrous way!
There’s a way to skip these frames during the tracking process?
I rely on your help :fingerscr .
