I line up the mesh and hit track but the mesh just goes back to where it originally was.
Help!
What if i just composited with the ProRes QT clips i export from FCP.
I ask because making img seq takes a lot of space and time. Is it worth it, why?
Additionally, is there any way for nuke to read the EDL or can i export all quicktimes as EDL, would let me fly through shots as opposed to doing each shot individually.
Any help would be appreciated.
Still not working…I was wrong. 🙁
My question is how come the footage shifts from it’s original position?

If I render a frame in the viewer (heavy 3D scene, lots of deformed cards and stuff), Nuke uses all cores – and is therefor pretty fast. Yet when I write this frame, Nuke uses only one core.. and well, performance goes to hell (in a way). How come? I read in another thread that sometimes it’s because of multi threading being enabled / disabled; however, I didn’t notice any difference there.
I know that the bottle neck for Nuke is the actual disk speed, so that’s an issue I have to fix (maybe a SSD or a decent sata..). What I’m not sure about is this: Do I have to install Nuke on the SSD, or is it OK if I just set the cache to SSD? Also, does it matter so much if the project data itself is on a SATA or should it be on the SSD as well? I’m asking ’cause.. well, you know, SSD prices and stuff..
Another thing is the good ol’ OpenGL issue.. the terminal says "unrecognised open gl version". Now that’s a slap in the face, what did I buy the latest graphics card for?
I’d be very glad if someone could give some advice or feedback on this topic
Defective Detective from Cartoon Brew on Vimeo.
Avner Geller and Stevie Lewis worked together to bring us this lovely animated film about a hapless detective’s attempt in catching a serial killer. Gorgeously lit, textured, modelled and designed, it features a combination of 2D and 3D animation and debuted at Cartoon Brew’s second annual Student Animation Festival. It scores a pretty okay rating in the humor department, in my opinion, but the best thing about it is its brevity: A good film usually doesn’t have to go any longer than it needs to. On that note, I’ll shut up now and let you enjoy it.
(Thanks to Greg for the nudge.)
Hi everyone, I Recently finished my course in Digital animation at the University of Hertfordshire and decided to put together a quick reel.
I have a few personal projects i am still working on but decided to make this short reel and start applying for low level or running jobs in London, UK now, to get my foot in the door. I will spend the next couple of months working on a few ideas and polishing some other work that can replace the shots i feel are lacking in quality.
I was hoping to get some crits and feedback from the users on this forum. the grading work is in my opinion the lowest quality and the internet compression has not done them any favours.
Software used: Maya, Nuke, Fusion, Syntheyes, Pftrack.
Thankyou in advance 🙂
