RenderBatch in Nuke and Win7

Hello everyone,

I`m coming to you all because I`m starting doing something I`ve never done before.
I need to create some batch render for nuke since I have lots of scripts to render and I`m planning to render them on my computer during night time.
So I created from the notepad a `renderbatch.exe` file in which I wrote :

C:\Program Files\Nuke6.0v3\Nuke6.0.exe -x %1
pause

Since I saw that on another topic there :
http://www.vfxtalk.com/forum/batch-r…ke-t16173.html

So I just changed the path for the nuke.exe file to get the right one.
But when I double click on it, I got this error message :
`The version of the file is not compatible with the version of windows you`re running. check your computer`s system information to see whether you need an x86 (32-nit) or x64 (64-bit) version of the program, and then contact the software publisher.`

I`m running on windows 7 64 bits.
I really have no idea about what should i do. I`m sure it`s something simple but well I can`t figure it out. I start wondering if its not a windows question than a nuke one though … I hope someone can help me out ! Thank for your attention.

Thesis with Compositing and Matchmoving?

Hey guys!
So I am in a bit of a situation. I have a class right now that I’m taking called "Pre Production" and here we basically have to pitch ideas and work towards some kind of animatic for our thesis project by the end of class.

I pitched an idea but have realized now halfway through that its totally not going to work for me and is not going to show my compositing skills or matchmoving skills and would also involve lots of particles which I’m not doing.

So now I have to come up with a new idea by wednesday or I’m quite screwed 🙁

I was hoping that someone could give me inspiration for an idea that would help show my compositing and matchmoving skills. Or links to some videos that have a big chunk of both these elements in them?

Any help would be MUCH appreciated.

Thanks so much!

VFX 404 [WIP] : Jingles

I’m in.

Spent the last few days running over some concepts for this and think I have a few good ideas. Will be doing some test shots this week.

Good luck everyone again and looking forward to seeing everyones work.

Starting out with Special Effects

Hey all,

My name is Stefan Lipsius. 25, living close to Toronto Ontario. Ive been interested in compositing for awhile now, but I havent done too too much with it. Ive done a couple of the tutorials over at videocopilot.net which were alot of fun. What Ive liked the most are the special effects / particals. Spell effects, fire, etc.

My question for you pros is this; Is it possible to find junior SFX jobs that do only particals, or do I need to learn roto and stuff as well?

Does anyone have any suggestions for where I should start, if Im doing this all on my own? I have experience with maya and photoshop and stuff through school (game development graduate). But lately Ive been feeling Im more into compositing than game developement.

Any suggestions or info would be GREATLY appreciated.

oh, and I already have the art and science of digital compositing book. 🙂

Thanks for your time

Stefan

Text file out of nuke

Another problem here. Is there a way to save a text file from within Nuke?
I need it to make a render log.

Trois Petits Points

Plugin control from another layer in other comp

Is it possible to control a plugin, for example trapcode particular values, from another layer in another comp? like a cloned node in nuke?

Thanks!

Optical flares ARTIST

Hello everybody!

In about three weeks (more or less) our team will end a promotional video to highlight our small, but industrious, independent production company.

The director wants to use some optical flares on this promotional video.

(video copilot optical flares, strar trek flares alike)

We are looking for an "Optical Flares Artist"

There will be certainly a little budget.

For anyone who might be interested, can send its own reel (or some optical flares works) at:

recruit@
magicartsfilms.com

please… send only LINKs

Thank you! :cyclops:
