First post. I could’ve sworn I had a login that worked here. Been a lurker for a while.
Just wanted to start a placeholder thread. Joining in a little late, but better late than never… right? Hopefully I’ll be able to finish up by the end of the month. Moving on the 1st. Might be a close one…
Given the theme, I’d like everything to have a more practical/organic look. I shot some elements for my entry this afternoon. I’ll post some stills and WIP screenshots in the days to come. 🙂

Is there any way I could buy one from the US? And have it shipped here to Canada directly, or via a friend who lives in the US new york?
Couldn’t a friend technically ‘send it to me as a gift, or loan’? That way I could get around the import duties? and tax
Though, what ARE the import duties/tax Is there any way to work it out? If they aren’t too much, I’d pay them.

DaVinci software only
Posted in: Digital Intermediary (DI)do you think it will start a new price war for DI systems?
if you have already a decent mac you just by the software and maybe a small panel (like tangent wave) and can do now full DI work.
anybody work on DaVinci? whats your feeling about it? do you think it will loose its "pro" status, just because now everybody can have it on its system?
is it a good move to bring DI forward (and to more studios/vendors)?
Just like many of you out there, I’m a huge fan of COD:MW2. What amazed me about the game was not only the action of it, but also the intro videoclips for each mission. I was sitting and thinking: wow, guys who made this, how much patience should they have?
At the same time, I was frustrated about my personal blog promo clip. Then “zing!” a thought crossed my head: why not to try and remake several MW2 intro clips my way and use them to promote my blog and myself as a free-lance designer? I re-watched all intros searching for parts I could use, recreated the pieces of interface in Photoshop, imported it to Affter effects and animated the whole deal. This required 4 months of my free time and a lot of patience, but also gave me lots of new experience.
Yeah, one might yell Plagiarist! at me, but let me explain first. No single piece of my promo movie is taken from the original video. I recreated them all. Also, I’m not trying to represent myself as an author of idea, just to show my computer graphics art skills.
Special thanks to: compositor Kestutis Ruzgys (ViPro sound studio) for creating a soundtrack for the clip and voice artist David Seys for an awesome voice-over.
Does anyone know how to set keyframes for GridWarp via script.
For example I want to use 3×3 grid. I create GridWarp1 node in the flow, configure it to have 3×3 cells, then I type
GridWarp1.DstGridChange = BezierSpline
GridWarp1.DstGridChange[comp.CurrentTime+1] = 1 –(I don’t really know what value it has to have)
GridWarp1.DstGridChange[comp.CurrentTime+2] = 2
and I’ll get 3 keyframes. (I know that I can create them by few mouse clicks in GUI ..this is just an example here)
But when you go through keyframes, they all have 8×8 grid in the viewer but show 3×3 frame in the GridWarp’s GUI.
