Hasta La Motion!

Hi everyone!

I’m facing this problem: I have hundred of 2D points created in other tracking package and I need to import them to Nuke to aid with roto – probably as Transform nodes.

To be clear: I don’t mean any 3D pointcloud or any camera track. I’m talking about pure 2D tracks.

I can export them out of my tracking package in any way you can imagine, so exporting is not a problem.

Problem is how to get this to Nuke without manually creating 100 Transform nodes and manually importing ascii text files into them one at a time.

I guess it will need creating a python script that goes through text file with all my 2D tracks (formatted in example like Track1 framenumber Xpoxition Yposition), creates Transform nodes for all trackers and copies the XY position information to them…

Any suggestions on what to use as a starting point? I actually can’t do any python for Nuke at all so I will have to find someone to do it for me 🙁

Somebody got any other ideas? Some alternative approach?

Ideally candidates will have:

4 + years experience in a production environment

Experience in lighting for feature films and/or TVC

Production experience in Maya and Renderman

Experience in MEL, Python and C++

Experience in Shader Writing

Experience compositing with a node-based compositing package

Ideal candidates should show experience in: Setting up large scale fire/smoke fluid simulations and hero particle simulation sequences.

The following is required of all candidates:

•3 + years production experience in television commercials, film or animated features.

•Experience in MEL or python scripting.

•Tool development experience.

•Renderman production experience.

•Procedural shading and scripting.

•Previous experience in FX look development in film or animated features.

•Excellent attention to detail, both artistic and technical.

•Proven ability to multi-task, prioritise and problem solve, both individually and as part of your function as a team member.

•Ability to communicate and interact positively in a collaborative group environment.

•A technical education or background will also be considered favourably.
