Particle distance from mesh?

Hi!

I am new to this forum and it looks like a good place to be for discussions like this. Im from norway and usually hangs on a local forum www.3dhue.com

But i thought i would find som more experience realflow users in this forum.

Im using Realflow 5 and i am supoosed to drop a big detailed object down in te water slowly.

What i want is for the particles to slide between the pipes and in to the model. so that when i drag i up again particles will fall out and make foam mist and so on.

Im using the hybrido function.

As you can see, the mesh collision is way to big.

Real flow 5 crashing… help mee..

Hi,

I am using real flow 5 and I am dealing with real wave and splashes.

Whenever I saved the scene and closed it, next time when I opened and press simulate or reset the scene is crashing.

when I delete the geometry which i imported from maya and press reset or simulate its working.

So every time I opened the scene file I have to delete the geometry and import it agian in order to continue the simulation.

Any solution for this problem….. Pls help me out…

Problem importing RF-bin into Maya

Hi,
I’m very new to RF and have a problem i’ve been trying to figure out..

Problem is when importing a bin-mesh into maya.. only looks like a cube.

Have created a test in RF with a bowl, a circle emitter (makes sure it is checked in the export central), gravity, and a volume cube. After it is simulated i create a "Particle Mesh (standard)" (makes sure that too is checked in the export central). Hit the build Mesh button, then play.

Don’t think there are more things to do here but.. from the tutorials i have read there should be lots of files in the Mesh-folder.. but i only get one..

And when i go into Maya and to the RF-Plugin, hit the "import Bin-Mesh" then create the mesh.. it only turns into a solid cube, no matter what i do in RF it is always the same cube, in size and everything..

If someone know what the problem might be? if i forgot to do something important or have any other suggestion what it might be? then i would be very happy if you could explain to a newbie like me what to do =)

Texture gizmo problem

Ive never had any problem using the texture gizmo until I upgraded to realflow 5. Now my textures seem to slide through the mesh instead of deforming with it. The first frame is fine. Ive tried multiple simple setups and always the same result. Is something different in 5??

Help with a wind_daemon script

How would I animate daemon_winds force from 0 -5 at any determined time? I am sure I need to script it but I am running a foam script right now. Does anyone know the correct way to write out that piece of code to attach to a script in use? Thanks

Bubbles upon disturbance

I’m trying to simulate the effect when you pour a bottle of water into a glass and the disturbance creates tiny bubbles that disapear. I tried using the foam script as my starting point but that script creates particles upon impact, which essentially i need to do too, but only until water fills the area of the cup first. Bubbles need to be created when there’s water hitting water and not when water hits the glass. I don’t know if that made sense but I can go into detail of what i want. Anybody knows if i can edit a script or any working methods to take on this look?

If anyone knows a line of code or workflow to simulate this I’d appreciate it?

custom mesh as realwave!

Hello folks
Is it possible to use a deforming mesh from 3ds max or any other sftware as a realwave!
I have a rower and the ocean in a single sd file , both are animated with 3ds max. i want the rower to create splash when it hits the ocean surface. I’ve tried many settings but it dosent seem to work. I’m still trying and looking for help but any help on setting this up is much appreciated. I’m on RF 5 BTW.

About to purchase — but any C4D r11.5 & RF5 “gotchas”

So I’m about to buy RF5 for Mac and I’m bidding on a project that would rely heavily on RF5 simulations running in my C4D r11.5 scenes and rendering on my all Mac C4D r11.5 mini render farm.

I’d like to hear from current users if there are any dirty little secrets or funky problems. You know, the stuff they never mention on the website or reels.

How’s viewport interaction? shading issues? Does AR3 handle everything fine? I heard it doesn’t work with NET Render? (Which would be a huge problem for me)
How is C4D integration compared to Maya or Max?
