Boujou to nuke export : 4 point track

Hi Nuke users

I Exported the 4 point track from boujou (file per track and order bottom left) to nuke and also exported to Shake(export to shake option) . Both values are same in each frame, But nuke not giving perfect track, but the same values in shake is giving perfect 4 point track.

Nuke is taking the average track for 4 point, but why the track is not perfect like shake when exporting from boujou.

is there anyway to get the perfect 4 point track from boujou to nuke like shake.

Thanks

PreComp node within gizmo.

Hi,

Is there any reason why using a PreComp node within a gizmo might lead to undesired results? We have been trialing the use of the PreComp node to reference scripts that contain nodes that require occasional updates.

When the node tree is used in a group it works correctly, but when used as a gizmo the PreComp node forces parts of the node tree to be disconnected and re-wired on save & reopen. If I remove the PreComp node from the gizmo it’s all ok.

Getting luma weighted average of a frame

Hi guys, just wanted to know if it was possible to get a per frame weighted average of the luma value of a frame sequence. I’m not looking for an image…I just want a single float value representing the average of the whole frame.

Are there any nodes or combination of nodes from which I could derive this or is this something that I would have to do with NDK?

Nuke is color grading empty space.

So I got this 3d render I’m trying to composite and I rendered it out of maya as an RGBa Exr. The alpha channel looks good, just the right stuff that should be opaque is opaque. The merge works fine but when I’m trying when I put a grade node on just the render and lift the white point it starts lightening the whole image.

What am I doing wrong here?

Evaluating complete tcl expressioin

Hey there!

I’m using a TCl-Expression (in the file-parameter) to build dynamic folder-names in write-nodes.
for example:

/sh020/versions/v[string trimleft [lindex [split [string trim [file tail [value root.name]] .nk] _] 1] v]/[string trim [file tail [value root.name]] .nk].%04d.jpg

I’d now like to parse this expression and have it return the proper string. I tried nuke.tcl(). It does parse the expression correctly, but somehow assumes, i wanna run the result as a command and returns this error:

RuntimeError: sh020_v00_sys.nk: Unknown command

sh020_v00_sys.nk is the resulting string but i can’t explain the runtimeerror.

If someone has an idea, i’d greatly appreciate it 🙂

cheers,
sean

adjusting near, far planes in NUKE 6.2

Hi everyone,

I’m trying to work with some 3D imported geometry in NUKE and my viewer keeps cutting the geometry out..

now I remember that in older versions of NUKE there was a 3D tab in Project Settings were you would adjust the NEAR and FAR planes.. but its not there any more in NUKE 6.2 and I can’t find it anywhere else.. maybe somebody can give me a hint..?

FBX Rotation Order

I’ve got a bit of a strange situation. I am using a readgeo to bring in an FBX file, which is animated so its read at every frame, and I know that in order to have it correctly align with the rest of the elements in the scene I need it to match the rotation order of the rest of the shot, which is ZXY. However, the FBX keeps loading as XYZ and when I change the rotation order to ZXY it keeps resetting itself to XYZ.

Any input as to how I can get the FBX rotation order to switch to ZXY and retain the setting would be greatly appreciated !

Thanks for any help.

Nuke project3D

HI i am using a project3D node in Nuke and then displacing it with a displacegeo node but my roto(depth matte) is not being projected in the displacegeo node thus giving my inaccurate distortions. I tried using a UVProject node but that does not project my original image properly. Any suggestions?
