U.S. Navy Railgun Auto-Loader Test • Mach Six Payload

The Office of Naval Research (ONR) demonstrates the Navy’s electromagnetic railgun initial rep-rate fires of multi-shot salvos at the Naval Surface Warfare Center Dahlgren Division. The railgun relies on a massive electrical pulse, rather than gunpowder or other chemical propellants, to launch projectiles at distances over 100 nautical miles – and at speeds that exceed Mach 6.

I, in most situations, keep my composure. When faced by several problems, situations, or emotions, instead of being flustered or running all around the place, I tend to think and judge the situation with a calmly manner. Even though I may be in a disordered state on the inside, by showing no signs on the outside, which might consider me as a dull person, it allows me to show a sense of stablility and confidence to others by having control over the situation. And It holds the meaning in which by having collected numerous different experiences and stimuli, it helps to remain calm and deal with sudden situations. It’s a Personal Project not for Commercial Use.

PH 5

As a proudly Copenhagen-based studio, it’s a rare honour to be given the opportunity to work with a Danish design icon. When we were approached to create a film for the iconic PH5 lamp, we could not have been more excited! Our challenge was to balance paying reverence to the beautiful iconic shape of the lamp itself, whilst celebrating its new release in an array of new colour combinations and new smaller size variant. With this spot we also wanted to demonstrate to younger generations that the PH5 is still cool and contemporary and not just for their parents living room – an iconic lamp, fit for every living space. The spot playfully expresses the subtle transformation from large to small, through an abstract, colorful and aesthetic exploration of the individual lamp parts being drawn together, searching for a balanced composition. The pieces finally find their perfect fit, by settling in the complete constellation of the PH5 lamp. We are truly proud of this new addition to our fruitful collaboration with lighting design specialist Louis Poulsen. Houseful at Bengaluru leg of MIP India roadshow

All the seats were taken and more had to be brought in as the Bengaluru leg of the MIP TV India roadshow ended last evening at the Lalit Ashok.

With the theme A Seamless Content World, the Bengaluru MIP was addressed by Reed Midem (Paris) Asia head Paul Barbaro, and India representative for Asia Markets and Indiantelevision.com CEO and managing director Anil Wanvari. The duo addressed the rapt audience in tandem.

Reed Midem (Paris) Asia head Paul Barbaro

Beginning with the theme of the roadshow, Wanvari quoted Netflix chief content officer Ted Sarandos’ words that Sarandos had spoken during an interview – “A good story told well is a global product.” In today’s connected world, which is increasingly becoming seamless, content is king, queen and prince irrespective of geography. This was evident by the success of creations such as the Louis Fonse-Daddy Yankee’s Spanish number Despacito, which had five billion views on YouTube, even more than Gangnam Style, explained Wanvari.

“Increasingly, scripted and non-scripted local shows made in a local language and aimed at domestic viewers are finding a global audience. And building a fan base overseas can only boost the revenue potential,” said Barbaro. Exhorting Indian creators, animators, Indian content aggregators and buyers and people from the Indian media and entertainment industry to participate at the India Pavilion at MIP TV 2018 at Cannes from 9 to 12 April 2018, Barbaro and Wanvari explicated the advantages and gains of doing so.

Citing examples of some successes of local content, Barbaro said, “Historically, dramas and comedies have not travelled well because they are steeped in local customs, conventions and cultures. Yet, Keshet’s Loaded, Star India’s Iss Pyaar Ko Kya Naam Doon, and Broken Pieces from Turkey’s Global Agency made compelling scripted entertainment centred on universal truths. And these stories have enthralled audiences in a number of diverse geographies.”

India representative for Asia Markets & Indiantelevision.com managing director and CEO Anil Wanvari

Reed Midem’s statistics and data about buyers and sellers and the kind of content that was required, details about the money that could be earned from different countries were shared. Case studies were presented and AVIs of some success stories of some of the people who participated at MIP TV were played.

“Don’t come and register if you plan to come to MIP TV just once. You have to be there for the long haul if you want to truly succeed, to network with the buyers and sellers and leverage the associations that you built there,” concluded Wanvari very bluntly.

China’s Winsing Animation to roll out three shows to India’s GTN Entertainment, Dish TV and Hungama Kids

China’s Winsing Animation has signed co-operation deals with three Indian companies to fully roll out its three popular animation shows GG Bond (renamed The Power Champ), Crazy Candies and Doby & Disy into the Indian market in 2018.

Winsing closed deal with GTN Entertainment in 2017 for GG Bond. GTN Entertainment is now the exclusive distributor of GG Bond for eight seasons of TV series and three feature films in India, Pakistan, Bangladesh, Sri Lanka, Bhutan, Nepal and Maldives, for a period of three years.

GG Bond

With a brand history of 15 years, GG Bond has been widely known in China, being on the top audience rating list on all major TV channels (CCTV, Aniworld, etc.) and main video streaming platforms (Tencent, iQiyi, etc.). Kids will be able to watch this show in Hindi and other local languages in India soon.

The synopsis of GG Bond goes like this: “Crystal city had an outright victory in the final battle against Twin City. But the Five-Spirit Lock has exhausted much of its energy, which led to the turbulence of its inner power. Deep down from the Five-Spirit Lock, an evil power called Obliviate has revived.

The evil power that Obliviate Soldiers used would sweep away victims’ dream and made people become numb puppets. To resist such disaster, GG Bond and his pals spared no efforts to restore the Five-Spirit Lock. And they were regaining their Five-Spirit Power while they were helping the citizens of Crystal City. However, Obliviate’s spreading speed was also accelerating, and GG Bond decided to turn the situation around and save people from such nightmare.”

Crazy Candies 2

The deal for another pop brand Crazy Candies was signed in 2017 with Dish TV for DTH Active Kids. With a license period of five years, kids in India will be able to watch season one to three of this animated comedy soon.

Crazy Candies follows the hilarious stories of happy-go-lucky Marshyo (a gummy candy) and his pals in Candy Jar.

Furthermore, Winsing’s preschool edutainment animation TV series Doby & Disy’s Exploring Journey and Doby & Disy: Detective Kubi are also available now on Hungama Kids channel and its app Hungama Play.

NASSCOM to hold ‘Road Safety and Traffic Rules’ hackathon in association with Govt. of Maharashtra

In a country where the number of road mishaps knows no bounds, creating awareness and appraising the commuters about the traffic rules is very imperative. And India’s largest confluence of game developers, the NASSCOM Gaming Forum, is taking a noble initiative in doing the same.

In association with the Government of Maharashtra, NASSCOM is organising a nation-wide hackathon from 23 February 2018 to 4 March 2018, with Road Safety and Traffic Rules as its theme. Named ‘BYOG for Road Safety’, the hackathon provides a platform for the game developers across the country to come together and create games that talk about the importance of abiding by the traffic laws, whilst also acquainting people about road safety measures.

To add a competitive twist, the top three winners of the event will bag home some lucrative cash prizes as well!

The hackathon will be executed under the banner of 10,000 Startups, an ambitious program by NASSCOM to bolster the startup ecosystem in the country, and the latest in its conveyor belt of awareness programs and initiatives.

All the gaming enthusiasts can start enrolling for it as the registration lines are open now and run till 22 February 2018.
