Which processor should I buy for mental ray rendering?

So mainly mental ray rendering? Also some sims with realflow, fumefx, etc. Also some nuke, but my main concern is rendering.

Options:
i7 970 (6 cores@3.2Ghz)
2600k (4 cores@3.4Ghz)

Watching some benchmarks 2600k is better, but saw some tests with POVRay and Cinebench and i7 is still way better. I really need an advice on this one.

rigging question !!

i’m new at rigging -i use maya 2011- what i want to rig is an alien tripod like that one in WAR OF THE WORLDS 2005 movie … ma question is HOW to rig the legs AS i have no idea how to rig it in a way to be able to animate it the way it was ?!:confused: any help plz :confused:

Car Windows Roto Issue

Hey there 😉

does anyone know a good approach to roto out the windows and getting rid of the original background while keeping the original reflections of the sky / or replace it with my own?

Rotoing the windows isnt the mayor problem I think, but matching my reflection with the original one might be hard :>
