Mirada: 3 Dreams of Black Interview

Motionographer recently posted 3 Dreams of Black, the Chris Milk music video intended for exclusive viewing on a browser. When it’s running, the animation progresses so fluidly that you forget it’s built entirely in WebGL and rendering on the fly. It’s in the computer… or, perhaps more accurately, in your graphics card (which doesn’t sound quite as dramatic).
I had the chance to speak with some of the folks over at Mirada about the process of making 3 Dreams of Black, interactivity’s increasing influence in the motion design field, and the future of Mirada. Check out the interview and some lovely production art here.

Is it possible to get workpermit in US after shortterm courses???
Posted in: Professional Career Advice!I am actually planning to join Gnomon or Escape Studios(LA) short term composting course which will be for about 3 Months.
But what are the chances of getting to stay there after the course because from what I have heard most of the jobs is LA are contract basis or freelance.
So,how can I get a work permit if I am freelancing other than marrying a US girl:p.
Please, could some body throw some light on this issue.

Just saying hi!

Just wanted to say hey, I’m new here!
A bit about me…
I am a multimedia designer from South Africa, I studied a BA in multimedia design… then I left with my gf to Belgrade Serbia where we freelanced for a year.
Now I’m living in Gibraltar working for an online gaming company.
I produce:
Events coverage videos (from VIP events in Germany, which I am lucky enough to attend and help film, as well as edit and produce)
Interviews (using a DIY blue screen)
Animated intro’s (For educational poker videos, I produce a fun and quirky intro)
Advertising
& other in-house required videos as well as photography.
Anyway i’ts not my 1st choice for a video designer to be, I’d rather be in a production studio receiving creative direction daily, but then again I am lucky because I have entire freedom. So I learn how to achieve what people want on my own I guess…
To keep my mind happy, I do alot of work in my free time… Currently I’m producing a music video which I filmed myself, but it’s free (I want it in my portfolio more than anything), and other animated projects…
Looking forward to getting to know everyone, and most importantly learning as much as I can!

Hi all,
I have a ReadGeo (fbx) in my script that keeps losing it’s XYZ translation’s. They all keep reverting back to "0" at seemingly random times.
I have tried setting a keyframe with the correct coordinates but to no avail.
Has anyone else had this problem?

Hi all
I’m completely new to this forum but I have great interest in becoming an animator. I made this short film for my graduation project and I would love some feedback from you guys. What ever you can throw at me, be it the animation, the vfx, the compositing or anything you can think of I would love to hear it.
This is my first attempt at animating and short film making so nothing but good can come out of some good pointers that would really help me out 🙂
