Blood spray effect

I’ve been tasked with creating blood spray for a video game and I’m wondering what y’all think the best option would be for this. It’s a realistic styled game, but they’ve requested over the top blood spray. To be specific I’m looking for a blood spray from a semi-auto rifle. Any help would be much appreciated. I have access to Maya, RealFlow and Houdini. I’ve worked in RealFlow for this so far. What I’ve got doesn’t look like I want it to exactly. I’ve taken a ball of settled particles, and then shot it out with 3 different wind daemons from behind it. One pointed straight at its back, one point at a 45 degree up and one pointed at a 45 degree down. I’ve also tried shooting a rigid body at that same ball of particles, but that didn’t look great either. Any suggestions of other ways to do this that might get more of what I’m looking for?

COMPOSITING ARTIST NEEDED

We are two CalArts grads seeking a Visual Effects Artist who can correct two 5-second clips shot with the phantom camera for our short film Zergüt. Essentially, one of the shots is a close up of a small fruit tart exploding at 1,000 frames per second. In the shot, some of the pyrotech material used to make the tart explode is revealed a little too much. We need a savvy VFX artist to mask this for us to make the tart look like it is exploding surrounded by whiteness, without any debris from the explosives in the shot.

To get a sense of the vibe of the film, please visit our website to watch our trailer at www.zergutfilm.com.

We need to have this done as soon as possible. Please note that because this is a not for profit, labor of love project, we are not prepared to compensate with industry rates. We do believe in paying those who work with us, but please keep in mind that this might not be very much. This is truly a fun project and hopefully a great piece for your reel.

Thanks for looking!

Making someone look like theyre floating / lying down position?

I guess similar to some supernatural movies where someone floats above their bed, is there a way to do this outside (without wires and a crane?)

I have access to a great green screen studio on campus. And the shot doesn’t have to be a long one. I guess one way is to have them lie down and mask the object theyre lying on, then after effects them to look like theyre floating. It’s just the close ups / medium shots of them lifting up and floating down is harder to shoot.

We just want to make it look like one of the characters calls the other, and floats them over (in an outside, wooded setting.) If you could help me out, I’d truly appreciate it.
