Stereo Roto Artist
Posted in: 1Live: 24h 3D Short Film
Posted in: 1So i have a greenscreen material that barely has lighting, and camera that have a way to high iso value.
So I wonder if you have any tips and tricks on what to do if you have greenscreen shot that are not illuminated and a iso value that is so high that the shots has
extremely high noise in the background. (and i haven’t reall time to roto out every shot becuase it is a ten minute film)
All tips and tricks are appreciated
Thanks in advance

Adding knobs to nodes
Posted in: Nuke Plugins & ScriptsThis should be sooo simple but I can’t figure it out.
I’m overriding the creation of the Write node, and using that creation event to add an extra knob to the node. When I add this new knob to the interface, it creates a new tab and places the new control on it. It also brings the tab to the front in the property editor.
The net result is that when the user now creates a Write node, it shows them the new custom tab, rather than the main one which is what they would want to see 99% of the time.
Is there any way around this? Is there some way to tell Nuke to display a particular tab of a node in the editor?
Thanks for any help,
Andy
RealFlow 5 Quits constantly On Mac G5
Posted in: RealflowI have a strange problem. Up until now I have been using Realflow 4 on a Mac G5 PPC. Most of the time it runs pretty well.
Recently I have installed the demo version of Realflow 5 to try it out. The problem I am having is that it is crashing all of the time. Also, every time I save a scene and then try to reopen it, RealFlow just quits before even opening the scene.
I have tried this with many scene files, even installed it on a clean install of leopard in case there was conflicts causing the bug. Same problem over and over again.
Any ideas why this may be happening? I have tried many thing but have no solutions so far.
My setup:
Mac Dual 2 Ghz PowerPC G5
5GB RAM
OS 10.5.8
Realflow 5.0.3.0190
Thank you in advance…

Keying grainy DSLR footage
Posted in: NUKE from The FoundryI’m working as a compositor on a short film shot on a nikon D7000 and i’ve run into some problems with the keying.
Some of the green screen scenes were filmed pretty late in the night and without enough lights. To compensate for this i think the DP cranked up the ISO pretty high (which creates the grainy/noisy plates), and i’m pretty sure that they forgot to turn off the in camera sharpening.
I’ve tried to degrain the footage, but it only helps a little bit. Do you guys have any ideas how to solve this or should i just roto the damn thing?
Thanks in advance!
VFX projects
Posted in: GalleryHi everyone! This is a compilation of personal works (with breakdowns) I made during Allan Mckay´s workshop on Hollywood styled VFX. The techniques I used include camera mapping, Afterburn and Fume FX.
If you have some spare time please let me know what you think of it.
Thanks!
I was wondering if its possible to export for example an animated geometry from Nuke to Maya so it preserves the animation..? so basically you could animate that simple shape in NUKE and export it to maya in order to light it and render it and then you would use those renders for projections back in Nuke..?
Best Regards
