Posted in: Matchmoving Softwarei have a shot taken with sony hvr-z1
the sensor size is 1/3 inch
but since my shots are 1440*1080 (pixel aspect 1.33)
what should i take for film back inside nuke.!??!?:radar:
this is my first post here and I hope that this hasn’t been anwered already. I searched the forum for quite a while without finding and anwers so if I’ve missed it I’m sorry 🙂
I’m making my first gizmo and I set some starting values on the slider to have a nice effect when you load the gizmo and everything is fine. The problem is when i try to set back to default with the ctrl+click.
The sliders go to 0 while "my" default value is 1.5
What can i do?
thanks
There are lots of good things about Python.
Hope it will help other newbies like me.

The wit of David Mitchell and the profundity of Charlie Brooker have joined forces along with Jimmy Carr and Lauren Laverne for a new topical comedy programme on Channel 4 called 10 O’Clock Live.
In a similar vein to local productions Hungry Beast or the 7pm Project the show is a tight hour or news, chat and comedy. Visually the programmes colour palette and set design are decidedly un-newsy, and the use of Steadicam makes for a (quite literally) smooth viewing experience.
Something that’s meant to make us laugh, is somehow also making us smarter. The rise of comedy in the delivery of news is challenging new audiences to have a greater understanding of the world around them, and hopefully that’s a good thing.
Dear Friends of 3DE!
One of our old friends recently wrote to me:
"There is a major irony that the optical quality of modern cinema is dropping rapidly. Anamorphic is coming back in and even digital cameras proudly advertise that they are ready for anamorphic lenses. The beam splitter alignment on stereo rigs are problematic and rolling shutters are becoming common. The distortion software is improving, but the optical quality is getting worse faster than the software can keep up. "
Indeed, it seems that we all entered a new era of lens distortion, which we thought would be a good idea to address asap. Therefore, we changed our development plan for 3DE4 and added a plugin infrastructure for lens distortion, available now in 3DE4 R1b10!
You’re now free to add your own, custom lens distortion models very easily (new documentation how to do this is on its way).
For the beginning we provide three new, buildin models. A pure radial ("spherical") model which takes lens decentering into account, a higher degree radial model for fisheye lenses and a higher degree anamorphic model (18 parameters). More to come in the future…
In addition, we worked very hard on our calculation routines which extract lens distortion parameters out of a set of matrix points. We realized that optimizing pixel aspect, which usually is not exactly 2.0 for anamorphic lenses, has a great impact on precision. So, it can now be extracted out of a grid shot, as well – please use this feature!
Finally, we added a lot of python scripting commands and fixed numerous calculation core related bugs…
Please see changelog below for more details!
Cheers,
Rolf

I been in talks with a VFX studio about a job opening. Had the interview last week and pretty much got the job. He asked me to send my Salary requirements to him and another lady at the Company. But the thing is Not sure how much to ask for.
The Job is a Nuke Compositing job, and also doing 2D to Stereoscopic in Nuke. Its contract work on two very big Feature films and the contract would go through May then most likely be extended to November. Then with the chance of staying on for a another year +.
All work is on site and in studio due to the nature of the projects I would be working on. 10 hour days Monday – Friday.
How much should I ask for? I would have to move up there to take the job. Any suggestions? Its very hard to find out what Nuke Compositors make. btw The job is in located in Michigan.
