i’m having trouble importing cornerpin out of mocha v2 to nuke… my footage is full HD 1920×1080. my project settings look good in mocha and nuke, but when i import the cornerpin, it comes in wrong size, really small and squeezed…
now there is probably something simple i am missing in my settings, or do i have to do some kind of tweaking to the imported cornerpin node before i can use it?
Thanks
The visual effects of Red
Director Robert Schwentke’s Red tells the story of ex-CIA agent Frank Moses (Bruce Willis) recruiting his former team to help him defeat a hi-tech assassin. CIS Vancouver contributed 220 shots to the film ranging from detailed composites, CG bullets, an exploding RPG and plentiful destruction. Here’s my interview at fxguide with CIS vfx supe Randy Goux.
IESB has learned that as soon as George Lucas converts his "Star Wars" movies to 3D and re-releases them in theaters, he will shift his focus on bringing a completely new trilogy to the big screen. The goal is to re-release "Episode I: The Phantom Menace" in 3D in 2012 and be done with the entire saga by around 2017. Within two years after that, the first installment in the new trilogy will be released. The new films will be financed by the profits from the 3D re-releases and will have nothing to do with the live-action TV series that’s currently in the works. In fact, it will have very little to do with the Skywalker storyline. Instead, the plan is to further explore the "Star Wars" universe by making three sequels that will take place many years in the future. So get ready, new "Star Wars" films are only a decade away! |

I am looking for someone to help me pimp out a powerpoint. Its short but the animation is key to its success… and its success may be key to the future of mankind.
We are pitching the future of computing as a whole and the use of AI to get things done for the regular guy so its a very touchy subject (what can i say, terminator made it hard for us AI guys) and so we need something slick and bad ass at the same time.
The job consists of a simple animated title/opening sequence, then showing someone entering 5 tasks they want to get done into a phone, and then showing them being done one at a time automagically.
Sequence is basically:
The title – needs to be cool, its really a fly-in/burn-in of the name of our software – have ideas of how we want that to look… less is more with good vfx!
The next slide is someone entering 5 tasks into their phone… again less is more so probably just a phone with a hand hovering over it
The next 5 slides each show the tasks getting done, we want it clean so against a white backdrop (powerpoint style but actually pocoyo syle*) with the phone on the left and ’24’ style animation showing the jobs getting done in popups on the right… then checking off job done before moving to the next one.
The last slide is the closing slide and we havent thought of it much yet – probably our company logo animated and some text saying if we beat skynet to it the world will be a safe place.
In summary the job is really really cool opening and closing logo animations and then clean animation and comping for the slides showing the stuff getting done, probably 3d with a 2d cartoon shader for the hand. because its simple its hard not to make it look tacky so i need someone who can do this stuff kick ass.
We are building a AI here so remember the future of planet may be in your hands, dont apply if you dont think you work can convince the president to help us.
This is paid work but not sure the cost of something like this is and we also dont have a massive budget. We also want it done in the next 3-5 days (yes a rush job)
Please email me if you are interested on karsten at silversoft dot com
Thanks

* for a idea of pocoyo style see http://images.easyart.com/i/prints/r…coyo-91952.jpg – not the characters but that kind of blank matrix look of a white background with depth.
I will make a test shooting in 3d with 2 cameras side by side to view on the new 3d Bluray and 3d LED Tvs.
How I can do that in Nuke for export a full color 3d stereo ?
I know the 3D tv can make a conversion 2d videos for 3d, but Not too good like a bluray 3d.
Thanks.

Ok, I have a 5 minute short that was filmed on 35 mil and was transfered (scanned) to a quicktime ProRES 4.2.2
It was filmed & scanned in Prague/FAMU, from a film student. They gave him 2 choices for the transfer to be in, and he picked Quicktime.(wrong choice I bet)
He gave me the edited version that he said is an exact duplicate in QT properties.
Frame Size = 1920 x 1080
Compressor = Apple ProRes 422 (HQ)
Quality = Most (5.00)
From what I understand, film scans are 10bit dpx files. So I don’t know if I should treat this as a "Video" 8 bit or a "Film " 10 bit log?
I am doing color grading on it and from what I hear, 10 bit would give better headroom and better results.
Did we loose any chance to using it as a 10 bit by using a Quicktime?
Is there any way to convert it to 10 bit?
I am so confused….
Thanks,
lou
When I try to apply depth blur over a paint effects rendered maya iff file there is this blur around the edges in the area that should be sharp. It’s a problem I always have. What could be the problem? (see attachment)
Thanks
