Primatte issues

Hello
So Im trying to pull a key from a plate with people in front of a chalkboard…which isnt the best scenario to start with.
Im using AE with Primatte, Cuz its all I have.
Ive done lots of comping but havent had to pull too many keys that werent on a greenscreen…..

I noticed these little weird specks on the edges of the key, and I cant seem to get rid of em.
(see below)

Im started dealing with them by using defocus matte, and the “Alpha Cleaner”. But I have the tolerances set from 5 to 10 % and it still shows.

If this isnt enough info, I can supply more. Is there any where else in the keyer anyone can suggest to target these kinds of issues?

base (3-6 months) to teach various topics related to VFX.

– top would additional experience in Mel/Python scripting, Renderman basic level

Not all the above mentioned skills are necessary but to give you an brief overview what we are going to teach.

– you don’t need to be bi-lingual, teaching is in English with sequential translation into Chinese

Our first terms start on Oct. 25th and we are expecting a 300 students per year. Average class size is going to be 15-20 max.

Responsibilities include:

We are currently welcoming applications for ‘Junior and Middleweight 3D Max Artists’. These positions will provide an opportunity to bring your skills to the team and learn different aspects of the industry. On the job training will be provided to help develop key skills. Joining this young ambitious company will allow you to work on live projects in a team environment. You will be required to manage projects on your own, reporting to senior staff. You will also be taught invaluable skills, techniques, procedures in creating animation and high-resolution stills for a diverse creative client base.

Responsibilities to include:

  • 3D modelling, texturing and UVing high poly meshes
  • Preparing Max scenes for rendering
  • Bespoke shader creation
  • MaxScript application development
  • Rendering in a production environment

Requirements:

  • Solid working knowledge of Max
  • A working knowledge of Vray, Mental Ray and/or RenderPipe would be an advantage
  • Must be a keen 3D artist, up to date with this fast changing industry
  • An independent problem solver and have an eye for fine detail and real world realism
  • Previous industry experience is not essential but would be an advantage (Junior)
  • An interest in Photorealism is essential
  • Applicants for Middleweight positions must have at least 2/3 years industry experience
  • Experience with node based compositing packages a plus

And you thought I am gonna Compete with high techs here? Naaaah :-). Someone has to come last :p

Though I am not from the VFX industry, I would like to participate and learn something with your expert help and advice.

My idea is to make something like the Harry Potter movie – Goblet of Fire. The starting scene showing the Quidditch World cup. :). The stadium structure was cylindrical in the movie but I plan to make it a Spherical stadium with people all over :). (I already see negative points for inspiration !!)

Will use AE, Nuke and Maya – Beginners knowledge.

Long live vfxtalk gurus.
