Queuing OS X render droplets for Nuke, AE, Maya. . .

Updated my OS X render droplet apps to queue up into terminal, so you can easily fire off AE, Maya, and Nuke renders into one terminal window and have them properly queue up one after the other.

Nuke timer gizmo

Hi 🙂

What would be the best way to create a gizmo that allows a user to start and stop a timer, to see how long it takes you to get a task done, and maybe log the times for each session. An example is rotoscoping an object in a shot. I am going through the nuke gizmo tutorial videos on their site to see if i can find a method. How would you create a custom gizmo from scratch, or would you make a group into a gizmo and start from there?

Thanks

Check out my graduation video clip

This is the videoclip I made to graduate from art school.
There’s a lot of things I’d have done differently, and some of the mistakes I’m pretty sure I fixed multiple times but apparently I kept interchanging old and new footage items.

Well it’s in the can now. Graduation done. I am now Bachelor of Art and Technology.

What do you think?
If you like it, please rate it on youtube, so the statistics driven youtube broadcast algorithm will show it to a bigger crowd. 😀

Military Airbase Composite

yo 😀

I just finished a 3 sec. shot I wanna use in my future compreel. I would kind of call it finished … BUT… something is missing and I would be glad to see if you could figure it out for me :> …

For the composite I basically took a day-still and wanted to “nighten” it … nice word o.O … First I wanted to do all 3D in Nuke but then I found it was easier to do all the projection and lighting in Maya. The models were for free since I wanted to focus myself on compositing and not modeling or even texturing ^^.

I hold the breakdown fairly short and fast just because later in my reel it’s just one shot of a dozen and any professional will know what was done anyway.

Well – I hope you can help me figure out what the last 15% are the shot is missing right now … and hopefully I can fix them in nuke rather than going back to maya being a 3D artist -.-

ramping in random expressions

Lots of posts here about creating a random expression but I can’t seem to find a way to ramp that randomize pattern from 0 at frame 1 to full random at say frame 10.

I’m an expression making newbie here so bare with me!

Cheers

this is what I’m using as a camera shake in a transform node.
random(frame*10)*50

CMIVFX Facial Replacement

CMIVFX has released a new tutorial on facial replacement for Nuke and as a beginner this seems like a tutorial I would want to buy. Only $59.95

Focal Length with Zoom lens?

I have a Panasonic DVX100b, which has a Leica Domicar lens.

I found the lens specs online and it has a 4.5-45mm focal length (zoom lens), but it also has listed a 35mm equivelent value of 32.5-325mm.

So when the camera is fully zoomed out, what focal length should I be solving with?

Matchmoving 7D/5D MkII footage

Does anyone have any experience with matchmoving Canon 7D or 5D MKII footage?

I have heard about rolling shutter problems, but I am not quite sure how that would affect tracking.

I am looking to buy one of these cameras to shoot personal projects and I would like to know of any issues in advance.

Thanks.
