Not sure where to go with this…

Okay, this is really a VRay/Fume problem, but since it’s about making sure I get nice EXR’s to composite in Nuke, I’ll justify it here 🙂 (Plus no one seems to use the Max forum here…)

Right, so basically myself and one of our 3D guys are trying to create a workflow using EXR’s from VRay based on Hugo’s great tutorial here

The problem arises with Fume. My 3D guy tells me that when you use the frame buffer settings on VRay it doesn’t render motion blur. Also, he is unable to seperate the VRay GI and the Fume GI. Does anyone know or heard of any workarounds for this?

Please don’t shout at me for sticking this here (I’ll put it in the Max forum too, I swear!), but I’d love to get this up and running as it would save me a lot of hassle in post (I love EXR’s with Multimattes too!) and make my boss happy for creating a more efficient pipeline between 3D and 2D.

Preventing bumping of old topics
I would vote for adding a script that checks if the topic has been active within last two months, and if not then display a warning to a potential "digger" ("This topic has not been active for two months. Are you sure you want to submit your reply?"). It might also be an idea to auto-lock topics that have been inactive for six months or a year.

Moderators
The forum would probably benefit from few more active moderators. Especially the Beginners Talk could use one. There is a lot of new people that come to ask questions that have already been asked AND answered. "Use the search option" is the response they usually get. While this response is 100% valid we end up with every page filled with these empty requests.

stablize nightmare.!!

i have a whole movie ..that in every cut and stabilize the edit people..done something wrong.and we have 2-3 frame vibration on cuts on both sides..:rip:
how can this be fixed.!? i mean can pixel clean stabilize operation do it.!? 🙁

Milk Shader

Hey,

I wanna develop a simple shader that looks like milk – not a very complex one but I noticed milk has a kind of translucency or subsurface scattering effect to it. My question now is, how do I combine a SSS-Shader with something like a Blinn or Phong to get control over the Specularity and Reflection as well?

I tried a Layered Shader but it doesn’t work with mi_sss 😮

Does anyone know how to set up this kind of shader?
