Motion Graphics ? [C4D Mograph Plugin]

Hi there.

I’ve been using Cinema 4d for some time, and quite happy with the results I get from it. However, without fumefx and afterburn, sometimes it becomes meaningless to use it.

Ok. Here is my question.

I moved do max for dynamics & simulation capabilities of it (and its plugins). However, this time it became almost impossible to create some complicated motiongraphics with it, although Im not sure if it has a plugin like Cinema4D’s [Maxons’s] MoGraph plugin, which is directly about procedural animation..

Let me ask you one example question, and how can thet be done in MAX:

[With MoGraph plugin of Cinema4D, I could create a movement depending on a waveform of a sound file (using an object called Sound Effector); which is basically getting the equilaser data and uses is as a movement input (to move, scale or rotate the 3d geometry). I want to create a similar effect in MAX; so I thouth there could be equivalent tools to create some advanced motiongraphics like it can be done in Cinema4D’s MoGraph.]

I hope this thread explains my problem well.

UV’s in Nuke???

Hey guys, just a quick sap of the endless knowledge on this site!

Could anyone give me a breakdown of what uv’s in Nuke are???
and how to use them for motion blur,stMaps etc etc?????

Any links or explanations would be greatly appretiated! I think it is something that doesn’t get debated enough, or at least from my side.

Time lapse Compositing

Heya,

back when I was learning about 3D and concept art, time lapse videos of people working on big projects was one of the best ways to understand work flow and learn lots of tricks along the way. Just do a search on youtube with "time lapse 3D" and you get lots and lots of vids.

These are some videos that helped me the most, seeing the process from a box to animated creature. That’s something you can’t put into a training DVD because it would just be too much. Tutorials that show you how to change the sky or track a wall are nice but won’t teach you good practices or let you see where the bulk of the work is.

Are there time lapse videos of compositing work? I never saw any but I’m pretty sure they are out there.

color matching..

Hey guys,

This is a shot I am working on right now. It would be great help if you could just comment on the perspective and color matching because I feel there is something wrong with this shot.

Thanks,
Rahul

Largo al Factotum a la Dougal Wilson

dougal_barber
Sky Arts and the English National Opera recently launched Sky Arts Opera Shorts, a unique collaboration with leading figures from the visual arts. This particular film by Dougal Wilson is a rendition of Largo al Factotum (here at your service to do or die) from The Barber Of Seville with a dash of stop-motion hair monster. This genre seems a perfect match for Dougal’s vaudevillian sense of theatrics and mastery of quirk.

Dougal says, “I’ve always wanted to try making a music video for a piece of classical music. Classical and opera music don’t have the same structure that most pop songs have – it’s usually more of a story, with twists and turns, and changing tempo. It invites an idea which is like a story, but also has to work with sound, which I thought would be really fun to try.”

In addition to Dougal, Werneg Herzog and Sam Taylor-Wood have also contributed pieces for this project.
