FS: SGI Octane2

I have a SGI Octane2 for sale. The machine has been used for Maya 6.5 and Shake 3.5.
Here is the setup:
Octane2 – Later motherboard, supports 8GB Ram.
Dual 400Mhz R12k processors.
XBow 1.4
2Gb ram (All banks used, includes memory clip)
128mb VPro V12 card + 13W3 VGA adapter.
2 x 36Gig 10K drives. The machine comes installed with IRIX 6.5.26m + latest Nekoware software. Second disc contains loads of software which I haven’t yet installed such as Flame, Smoke, SoftImage3D & Jaleo.
SGI Keyboard and Microsoft Mouse.
External SCSI enclosure with Yamaha 8x4x24 CD-RW + SCSI cable.
I will include the means to re-install the OS if required on backup CD. I’ve primarily used the machine for Maya6.5 and Shake3.5, so it’s perfectly suited for that line of work.
I have replaced the PSU & drivebay fans with near silent ones. I can include the original fans if required.
I’ll ship to the UK and EU, please e-mail me for shipping costs. Offers over 600 GBP / 650 Euro / US$ 800 please. If you really want me to ship it to he US I could but it would cost a lot! I’m not parting the machine out. Please note this machine sells for over £1200 at resellers. Payment via bank transfer. Software licensing is the responsibilty of the purchaser.

Compositor Wanted
Specializing in animation and visual effects for television and film Acme Pictures is currently looking for a digital compositor.
Responsibilities include:
l The ability to excel at tasks such as such as integration of 3d elements, colour correction, tracking,
l The ability to create a realistic look for your composites.
l Working closely with the 3D department on solving compositing issues(required passes)
l The ability to fully utilize 3D space in the compositing package.
Qualifications:
l Minimum of 2 years of production experience as a digital compositor.
l Demonstrated production experience with eyeon Fusion.
l A reel is required highlighting the candidates eye for realism, colour correction and 3D integration
l Candidate must have great communication skills, the ability to take direction and work closely in a team environment.
l Understanding of a 3D work flow is an asset.

3D Digital Enviornment Artist Wanted
Specializing in animation and visual effects for television and film Acme Pictures is currently looking for a 3D Digital Environment.
Responsibilities include:
l The ability to create realistic digital environments from photo reference
l Model, unwrap and texture 3D assets
l Must be able to have organized scene files with our pipeline in mind
l Knowledge of projection mapping techniques
Qualifications:
l Minimum of 2 years of production experience.
l Demonstrated production experience with Autodesk Maya, Pixelogic Zbrush and /or Luxology Modo.
l A reel is required highlighting the candidates eye for realism, attention to detail and texturing examples.
l Experience with E-on Vue is an asset
l Candidate must have great communication skills, the ability to take direction and work closely in a team environment.

Responsibilities include:
l The ability to light scenes using indirect lighting as well as traditional lighting.
l Tweak materials on a per scene basis
l Communicate with compositors to set up render passes as required
l Have completed scenes ready to submit to the render farm
l Must be able to have organized scene files with our pipeline in mind.
Qualifications:
l Demonstrated production experience with Autodesk Maya and mental ray.
l A reel is required highlighting the candidates eye for realism, attention to detail and various lighting examples.
l Candidate must have great communication skills, the ability to take direction and work closely in a team environment.
