The facility boasts reconfigurable workspaces enabling security and privacy for multiple tenants, and also has direct access to the SteamEngine Infrastructure as a Service facility boasting 1200 HPC class render nodes and over 2 PB of high speed BlueArc & HDS Disk. The facility is serviced by DWDM Dark Fibre connectivity to our Datacentre, and a 100MB/s internet connection.
Role: 2 x Snr Systems Administrators
StudioEngine AUSTRALIA is seeking 2 Systems Administrators (Mechanics) to join our growing Australian team.
Responsibilities:
Duties include the installation, maintenance and administration of:
- Linux workstations and render nodes (render farm)
- Windows and Mac OS X workstations
- Network switches
- Network storage (Blue Arc / HDS / NetApp / DDN) and associated tape backup system
- Network information services
- User accounts, email, Internet, firewall
- User support and trouble-shooting
- Applications and software – Linux, Windows and Mac OS X
Requirements :
At least 5+ years industry experience in a similar role
A advanced understanding of all relevant technologies
Strong knowledge of Linux and shell administration
Excellent knowledge of network services (NIS, LDAP, AD, DNS, DHCP)
Excellent Experience with web servers (Apache) and databases (MySQL)
Advanced Experience with VMware or other virtualization technologies
Advanced Experience with tape libraries and tape backup systems
Ability to problem solve unsupervised and recommend technical solutions
Ability to learn new technologies as required
Ability to be follow instruction when necessary
Ability to be autonomous
A team player
Willingness to work with all operating systems
Positive can-do attitude and an ability to work under pressure and meet deadlines
Willingness to mentor and teach
Fluency in English
(Essential) At least 5 years of networking experience in a network environment;
(Essential) Expert knowledge of networking layers 2 and 3;
(Essential) Knowledge of and experience with equipment/network concepts (firewalls, proxies, security);
(Essential) Knowledge of and experience with network services and equipment (e.g. BPG, spanning tree, HSRP, TACACS+/Radius, VPN/IPSEC, etc.);
(Essential) Strong experience with TCP/IP protocol/stack and low-level network troubleshooting;
(Asset) Experience with wireless (Wi-Fi) networking;
(Asset) Experience with SNMP and RRD-based management tools.
