StudioEngine is a 4,000 sqm production facility available to studios, producers, studio teams and production teams of Media and Entertainment properties.The facility is available on demand, with no minimum contract term, and provides a per seat production cost for access to state of the art, workstations, software, pipeline, engineering, administration and infrastructure support staff and technology.
The facility boasts reconfigurable workspaces enabling security and privacy for multiple tenants, and also has direct access to the SteamEngine Infrastructure as a Service facility boasting 1200 HPC class render nodes and over 2 PB of high speed BlueArc & HDS Disk. The facility is serviced by DWDM Dark Fibre connectivity to our Datacentre, and a 100MB/s internet connection.
Role: Storage Management Administrator
StudioEngine AUSTRALIA is seeking a Storage Management Administrator.
The Storage Administrator is responsible for central support and management of storage infrastructure to maintain the reliability and cost effectiveness of storage used in our production environment.
This includes storage resource management (SRM) implementation and storage backup and recovery for a multi-OS, multi-terabyte, high-availability NAS/SAN/local storage and computer infrastructure.
The Storage Administrator is a key resource who works independently and with the Engineering team to ensure the maintenance, performance and protection of production and application data.
Storage Management Administrator is an advanced technical and analytical role.
Duties and Responsibilities:
Coordinating the transfer of data between network shares, local disk, tape, removable storage and external sites
Monitoring and managing storage availability and capacity using products, standards and procedures that provide reporting, analysis, and management of physical and logical storage availability, capacity, configuration and performance.
Provide operational insights and alternatives as a participant in the planning and architecture processes
Archiving and restoring data
Data format conversion
Coordinating with artists, producers and clients
Assisting with other tasks, such as render wrangling, duplication, backup management & audit, deliverables creation, as required
Requirements:
- Isilon / NetAPP / BlueArc / DDN / HDS Storage Administration
- Command shell experience with Windows, Mac, Linux.
- Motion Picture D.I. or VFX experience.
- Experience in management of multi-volume, multi-terabyte storage infrastructure.
- Solid grasp of storage/networking concepts and techniques (NFS, Samba, CIFS)
- Excel/Word/Visio experience
- Advanced FTP management
- Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written.
- Good organizational skills and attention to detail.
- Ability to handle a fast paced, occasionally high-pressure environment.
- Ability to work well independently and as part of a team.
- Able to provide leadership to less experienced resource administrators
- Willingness to work flexible hours
- Linux openSUSE/RHEL/CentOS, OSX, Win7
- Experience administering large Linux installations
- Solid grasp of storage/networking concepts and techniques
- Apache, MySQL, DNS, and Mail services
