I line up the mesh and hit track but the mesh just goes back to where it originally was.
Help!
What if i just composited with the ProRes QT clips i export from FCP.
I ask because making img seq takes a lot of space and time. Is it worth it, why?
Additionally, is there any way for nuke to read the EDL or can i export all quicktimes as EDL, would let me fly through shots as opposed to doing each shot individually.
Any help would be appreciated.
So im in a bind and i am currently cutting a new reel. I’ve worked on a lot of stereo feature films in the past- I just don’t know what the best way to put it on my reel? I was thinking in Anaglyph- but that would require me to have both the left and right eye to render out a pass. And even if I did- is that acceptable? Is it acceptable to put the 2D shot and just make note that I did the stereo version of it? Maybe SBS (side-by-side)?
Basically, what is the best way to demonstrate stereo shots on a reel?
If you are a VFX supervisor, recruiter, or just someone who looks at a ton of reels- PLEASE HELP!!!
Thanks!
I will be finishing my masters in digital effects in a few months and was wondering what the path would be like from here on.I am interested in compositing and have a reel to suit it. Should a fresher with no industry experience apply for roto and paint jobs or apply for junior compositor jobs? If I apply for roto and paint, what are the chances of being pushed into compositing instead of lead roto and paint?
Thanks!

I posted a thread last night, it said that the thread will be checked by a mod before it goea online,
but till now its not on board is there any problem with my permissions or no mod is available now.
how does it work???
Now its coming into the time to decide what I want to become, career-wise. I love performing, but I really don’t have the… well… you could say I don’t have the backbone to do it. I don’t have the guts. That’s a whole other thing… anyways…
I want to pursue VFX designing as a career path. But problem is I really am not good with the whole "future" thing. I don’t have the first clue about colleges, which is very bad going into my senior year of high school…
Anyways sorry I have a tendency to ramble.. ANYWAYS…
I need you guys to help me! Could you please inform me on what to do, concerning college/major or whatever… if I want to become a VFX artist?
Also about how to get experience on software/knowledge of VFX designing itself? Like, go to barnes and noble and get books on it? Tell me what to do from scratch.
If you could help, that would be the best.
can you tell me which one is better : "Nuke" or "Fusion" or "Toxik"
Later on i may consider to buy one of the three.
Thank you.
i know it depends on the content but i’d like to know the average in dollars
-thx in advance
