this is shekhar jain from indore. i have done my BE in computing with specialization in multimedia from APIIT SD INDIA. I m looking for masters program in visual effects. I came across few options but still confused on the basis of country.
In USA we have:
1) MFA animation and visual effects, Academy of art university, San franciso (3 yr, Cost to prog approx 28 lac )
2) MFA visual effects , SCAD, cost to prog approx 25 lac, time 2 yr min.
3) Pratt university 3 yr course.. almost same fees
4) school of cinematic arts , USC 3yrs almost same fees
in UK :
1) MA digital effects (bournemouth university) 1 yr 8 lacs
2) MS visual effects (leeds met university) 1 yr 8 lacs
3) same in university of teeside
4) kingston university ,london
although all the UK courses are specific to visual effects which i really want. because i have a graduation in multimedia plus i have 1 yr of industry exposure thats i dont want to go for 3 yr program learning all the basics n all again.
now we all know UK houses have also given few admirable works in visual effects.
plus its just 1 yr so i m planning to go for i yr course at uk …
please help me selecting a good institute and country and deciding the pathway to VFX industry.

Escape Studios MAY
Posted in: Beginners TalkMe and my friend are going to Compositing course to Escape Studios in May.
Maybe there is someone who are going to this course too 🙂 ?
Best,
Alex
I have a Canon powershot sx 100is
it does
640 x 480 @ 30fps
I want to film objects on fire that are moving–like a fiery arm swinging..and use the flame in compositing work…but I dont want to get a new camera just for filming fire. I was thinking of either finding a way to convert the 30fps to 24
or just cut out a few frames spaced out of 30 to get 24.
Think its doable without looking sucky?
Trying to think of the drawbacks before igniting anything…
