Channel [V] and the bliss of solitude.

Bondi based Where Theres Smoke have updated their previous work for Channel [V], extending the concept while taking the whole thing in a slightly darker direction.

There is a whole set of idents based around this new look and feel, which went on-air yesterday. This is just the directors cut 30 second version.

As for the song in the clip, it’s Solitude is Bliss by Tame Impala.

Freelancer Hours

When the client says pay per day. How long is the day? 8 – 12 -16 hours?

Freelancer Resumes…

Hey all…

In a former life, I was a freelance editor on various TV shows & films in L.A. I’m now switching over to visual effects and will soon be re-vamping my resume.

I was never really completely satisfied with my resume (layout that is) as it was just mainly a sequential list of shows I had worked on. I also didn’t list any dates as you know how freelancer situations can be… projects last anywhere from a couple weeks to many months.

We freelancers certainly don’t have the ‘Worked for company A from 1989 – 1996, worked for company B from 1996 – 2005’ etc. like most ‘normal’ people do.

So, I’m curious as to how other freelancers have their resumes set up.

Close Account?

Hello,

I’ve looked on the site everywhere yet I can’t seem to find a way how to close this account down?

I’ve looked in the control panel, in user preferences, even searched on the forums, am I missing something here?

You see I just relized that I have another vfxtalk account and there’s no sense on doubling up.

or if the only way to close the account is by an admin please feel free and welcome to shut this account down.

Re-connecting Media

I don’t understand how to reconnect my media files. I’m primarily working off an external hard drive and every time I go to another computer I have to reconnect all my media because my drive is given a random letter (I, E, H, etc.) and my files don’t load. That makes sense but in every other program I’ve ever used you just use some re-connect tool to point to the folder where your files are. I asked a Nuke expert how to do this and he said Nuke has no such tool. THATS INSANE!

Reconnecting 30 files manually every day is ridiculous. Please tell me there’s some tool that is hard to find that allows me to reconnect media. (Note – putting it on a local hard drive is not an answer because that file path changes as well on different computers based on name of computer. Also, changing the computer drive letter doesn’t work because I don’t have those privileges at work). I looked on creative crash for script but didnt see one.
