Social Networks and Browsers as People

Vanichi Magazine has partnered with Los Angeles-based photographer Viktorija Pashuta to create a sequel to her photography series, ‘What If Girls Were Internet Browsers’. The new project, “What If Guys Were Social Networks“, is a concept fashion photo shoot that pictorially answers the question: “What would popular social networks look like, if they were actually human?” Viktorija explains, “With the age of social media and its influence on everyday life, we feel its direct presence and the necessity to use these channels as our main source of communication and sharing of content. While socializing with friends, relatives, and colleagues online, the actual online platforms sort of become ‘alive.’ And then I thought: ‘What would happen if I tried to humanize well known social networks? The idea was not only to use the social media logos as a visual reference, but also to transfer their qualities and usability functions into human character portrayed through fashion.”

Viktorija Pashuta Social Networks

Viktorija writes about the creative inspiration behind the social network series.

“Even though they share very similar functions and features, each social network has its own character and style: Facebook is depicted as casual; Twitter as classic; Pinterest as creative; LinkedIn as business; Instagram as vintage; Flickr as artsy; Tumblr as hip; and Google+ as innovative. Combining the visual elements of the logos, I then cast the models that would carry the ‘spirit’ of the social platforms and represent their essence. It may be subjective, but this is exactly what I imagined the networks would look like if they stepped down from the computer screens into the streets. Working closely with wardrobe stylist Jordan Anthony Swain (who is also Editor-in-Chief of Vanichi Magazine, as well as the model featured as Instagram) – together we finalized these looks, making sure we didn’t overlook any important details to make these characters believable. Even their personalities somehow appeared to match the ‘soul’ of the networks: Tumblr (modelled by Daniel) was very hip and cool, Google+ (modeled by Taejung) was super energetic, and Facebook (modelled by Mazlow) – was a freshman out of high school.”

Viktorija Pashuta Browsers

Viktorija writes on her blog about the creative inspiration behind the “What if Girls Were Internet Browsers photography series.

“It required a lot of pre production and preparation since every Internet Browser had to have very specific elements, colors, features. As Juli one of my Facebook friends commented: Internet Explorer is all flashy, Firefox is sexy, Opera is elegant, Chrome is utilitarian and Safari – trendy/hip. Besides creating a visual resemblance based on the main colors, I have tried to reflect the style of each Internet browsers through the means of clothes, shoes, accessories, props and poses itself. ”

Lego Star Wars: Episode VII – The Force Awakens Teaser Trailer

Hey you just watched this….and this is crazy, but thanks for watching, so subscribe maybe?

this took forever…. hence the upload at 4:00 AM im excited for the movie ha ha

Edit: Came back from my grandma’s to find this video with half a million views… holy shit, It isn’t even that good lol I thought the visual effects sucked, but thanks for the kind wordsXD

I had nothing to do yesterday so I started once the trailer came out so i built the Falcon, The X-Wing, The speeder bike thingy, a mini tie fighter, tried to build all the sets, and get all my minifigures put together… then just filming took forever especially the the special effects… i tried stop motion in front of the green screen and that was hard and by this time it was 3am so like more than 12 hours (i took a 3 hour break somewhere) and then finally gave up and used sewing string for the X-Wing and just kind of moved my camera around the falcon, i wasn’t as happy with the falcon shot but i cant work on it at all today so i had to finish it like 4 hours ago, but i just woke up to go to my grandparents house, and now you know everything about how it was made!! 😛

Wanderers – a short film by Erik Wernquist

For more information and stills gallery, please turn to: www.erikwernquist.com/wanderers Wanderers is a vision of humanity’s expansion into the Solar System, based on scientific ideas and concepts of what our future in space might look like, if it ever happens. The locations depicted in the film are digital recreations of actual places in the Solar System, built from real photos and map data where available. Without any apparent story, other than what you may fill in by yourself, the idea with the film is primarily to show a glimpse of the fantastic and beautiful nature that surrounds us on our neighboring worlds – and above all, how it might appear to us if we were there. LYRICS:

Because you know
I’m all about that paste
’bout that paste
that hummus

Yeah it’s pretty clear
this ain’t no Thai food
but I can dip it, dip it
when I would like, dude

It’s got tahini, an Arab-like taste,
and all the right oil in all the right places

You said you get your hummus
down at the corner shop?
You know that dish ain’t real, habibi
Make it stop

Ain’t got enough tahini?
You toss it back
But every other kind is tasty
from Beirut on to Iraq

I said my Momma she told me
don’t worry about your thighs
She told me eat some tabbouleh with it
and you’ll be alright
(tabbouleh-bouleh)
(no booty-booty)

You know you won’t see me eating from
silicone hummus cups
So if that’s what you’re into then
go ahead and move along

Remy Remz and I’m back again
Don’t know who I am? Baby, ask your friends
If they say they don’t know? Better ask again
They still don’t know? I guess that makes sense…

If you suspect that the content is teeny
Go to the lab and check the tahini
Never dip a carrot or tortilla
Hummus is like Katniss: it needs pita.

I brought tabbouleh back
You tell your skinny sandwiches that
You think it’s tasty but it’s really bad
But I’m here to tell you
Every kind of it is tasty
from Beirut on to Iraq

I said my momma she told me
don’t worry about your thighs
She said that girls will not like you
does not matter what your size
(that’s kind of spooky)
(why’d you tell that to me?)

No you won’t see me eating from
silicone hummus cups
So if that’s what you’re into then
go ahead and move along
