whats your opinion on the overall composite of this shot?
Is there anything about the sky and fog which does not fit or sticks out?
There also is some rain falling down, but subtle ^^

Been doing more practice with Matchmoving today
In this video i have created an animation using Endorphin and imported it into 3DS Max 2010 as a motion capture file. I used feathers rather than blood as it blends in well with the biped because it looks cartoonish which sells the effect. I also created a shadow for the feathers by duplicating the layer and changing it into 3D and then i simply rotated the image so that the perspective looked flat against the ground plane, i then tinted the feathers to a light grey to correspond with the shadows in the scene. Finally i added a cinematic overlay to the entire scene to help them blend together
I know the sound is lame but it’s the only sound effects i had available
It’s a shame that youtubes quality is a lot less than the original footage

This is the first shot for my first roto reel. I appreciate any and all
comments and critique 🙂
Thanks
I’m building a tornado for destruction, please let me know what you think

1 maya fluids container resolution 42x50x42 with a size of 84x100x84
It was hard making adjustments to the speed, one of the things I did was take down the simulation rate scale, which helped….you can see the volume axis curve but as you can tell I scaled down everything so it squished the field lol… but easily fixable if I need to make adjustments…. both fluid containers were cached before I scaled everything down
I’m leaning towards this one. It needs some more work but it’s getting there.
This is a small video of where I utilized a couple other matte paintings within the series. In this video I actually built a model for the mountain scene.
This is actually a promo vid for the premiere. The reason I post this is because of the opening shot, at the very beginning the main character is walking over the dunes everything else around him was the model.

a simple sky replacement, some roto, i almost did no grading to the image, i just tried to match the color values.
i´m pretty happy for the first result but i would be glad to get some additional input
it was done in AE and 3d Studio, 3d tracking with Syntheyes.
i had some trouble with camera projection (f.e. with the stones on the floor. Because if i painted in one frame, reprojected it on some simple geometry (basically the wall and the floor) i got some perspective distortion (i guess because of the nodal pan) which i had to fix with some corner pinning. I don´t consider that a good solution, it´s a little messy.
Also sometimes i found it difficult to get a perfect track, because of some minimal jittering that i find really hard to fix. i tried to average some tracks together but i couldn´t eliminate it fully.
some things i would have considered, but could not implement due to time restrictions:
-moving of the bushes (seemed pretty complex, any ideas?)
-reflections in the window: shouldn´t be that hard, but the dust/debris passes so fast i guess i can get away with it.
thnx
