The Art Institute of Dallas has open instructor positions. Key Job Elements

  • Provides competency-based education which aligns with the EDMC model of curricula as well as supports the EDMC style of system delivery.
  • Designs and delivers class instruction through the development of instructional plans to meet course competencies, the development of activities which support lesson objectives, and (in the case of online instructors ONLY) delivers the instruction as approved.

Job Requirements

Knowledge:

  • Master’s degree in a field related.
  • Experience with After Effects, Nuke, Maya and/or 3ds Max. CG multi pass renderings and live action film composite and Green/Blue screen experience required. Motion Graphic knowledge and MFA in animation or VFX preferred.
  • Zero to two years experience in instruction or formalized education process, preferably in a post-secondary or college institution.
  • Membership in a professional association tied to area of instruction preferred.

  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills including the ability to build successful relationships with student populations.
  • Outstanding conflict resolution skills.
  • Demonstrated time management and detail-oriented skills

Lighting TD – Hollywood, CA

Ingenuity Engine is an artist-owned and operated feature film and commercial studio in Hollywood, California. We have a great team of talented artists working in a lively and creative environment. We are currently seeking a Lighting TD – EMPHASIS ON LIGHTING AND RENDERING CARS IN VRAY, for extended work on an upcoming commercial in May.

Responsibilities Include:
– Rendering in vray/mental ray
– Lighting and rendering FX passes for compositing
– Utilizing rotomated geometry for convincing scene interaction
– Optimizing and streamlining approved looks and workflows for application to a variety of shots
– Creating tools and scripts to speed workflows

Artists should be familiar with more than one of the following applications:
– 3ds Max
– Fume
– Krakatoa
– Nuke experience is a plus
– Maxscript / Python scripting experience is a plus

General Duties & Responsibilities

  • Ingest and Process Client plates and related assets into asset management system.
  • Breakdown all shots in Scratch for full length feature to verify frame-for-frame accuracy.
  • Rebuild the edit in Scratch, the primary editorial program used for stereo edits and reviews.
  • Run daily shot review sessions / Client presentations.
  • Responsible for driving client presentations, and keeping shots well organized and labeled to ensure a smooth review.

  • Create a stereo edit of each scene with direction from client and Stereographer regarding initial stereo parameters per shot
  • Preps and organizes client deliveries per required specs.

  • Perform basic IO / Data functions with computer based file management. Linux shell commands.

Full working knowledge of Maya
Need to be comfortable with the more technical aspects of creature work where appropriate, and have a strong visual and artistic skills as well. Programming or scripting skills (e.g. mel, python) would be beneficial, but not essential, depending on the area of specialisation
Familiarity with pipeline issues and a typical creature heavy post production environment
Minimum of 3 years experience on feature films with extensive creature work
