Position: Help-Desk / IT Systems Support
Department: Systems Operations
Position Summary:
Help-Desk / IT Systems Support is responsible for the daily performance of the company’s computer systems including various flavors of Linux servers and workstations, Macintosh and PC workstations. This position will also provide technical assistance, support and assist computer users with hardware and software questions.
Shift Info:
7:00am to 4:00pm
10:00am to 7:00pm
4:00pm to 1:00am
11:00pm to 8:00am
Responsibilities:
- Assist users with hardware, email, network, peripheral problems and troubleshooting.
- Perform backups and restores; maintain tape library and database; update online database.
- Monitor disk usage.
- Assist in writing tools and the maintenance of the operations manual and procedures; make recommendations and enhance procedures to increase productivity, organization and efficiency.
- Perform regular maintenance on computer hardware.
- Monitor the entire studio computer network.
- Maintain a clean and safe work environment.
Required Skills:
- Understanding of various Linux variants, HTML, Macintosh and PC workstations.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Willingness and ability to learn quickly.
- Exceptional organizational skills.
- Ability to work independently on assigned projects.
- Conscientious, able to work independently, as well as in a team environment.
- Ability to work in a fast-paced, high-pressure environment.
- 3 years of college or equivalent post-high-school CS education or experience.
- Must be able to lift 20 lbs.
Desired Skills:
- Scripting and programming experience (Perl, c/c++, sh/csh).
- Familiarity with most basic system administration tools and processes.
- Experience with Unix software and processes.
- Familiarity with networked/distributed computing concepts.
- Database experience (Informix or MySQL preferred).
- Interest in computer animation and special effects.
- A degree or certificate in computer science or a related field.

Position: Production Manager / Production Accountant

Position Summary:
Rhythm & Hues is hiring Production Managers to support the Visual Effects Producers. This critical role is responsible for assisting the Producer in all financial aspects of the show.
The Production Manager will have exceptional attention to detail, excellent organizational skills, and the ability to prioritize and multi-task. Visual Effects production or financial experience is required. This position is for project based employment and is based in Los Angeles.
Responsibilities:
- Assist Producer in bidding, estimating & analyzing all aspects of visual effects work.
- Track show costs, EFCs.
- Approve timecards, purchase orders, invoicing.
- Prepare financial presentations and reports.
- Uses multiple technical applications including excel, word processing, proprietary database, spreadsheets, email, and other technical applications.
Required Skills:
- Solid working knowledge of excel. Excel performance test administered in interview process.
- Accounting or Bidding background.
- Two plus years related experience with proven office administration skills.
- Visual Effects industry experience.
Desired Skills:
- Excellent oral communication and interpersonal relationship skills.
- Strong writing skills including proper use of spelling, grammar, and proofreading.
- Strong problem solving skills.
- Excellent follow-up and follow-through skills.
- Ability to work with a variety of projects with multiple deadlines.
- Bachelors Degree preferred.
