I’m coming up on the end of my VFX internship in May. My internship is with a feature film VFX house in Hollywood. They have given me some roto work to do on a big budget project and I’ll have an imdb credit when it is all said and done. But I’m wondering what to do next? Eventually I’ll sit down and talk with my boss about it. Could you guys school me on what to expect when my internship is over? I have plenty of 3d and compositing experience, but just one real credit to my name with this internship roto work. I don’t mind entry level work at all. I just really don’t know where and what to look for jobwise.
When I’m job searching, what is the job title I should be searching for?
What is the best site to find entry level VFX in Hollywood? I can’t seem to find a solid one.
I need to formulate my next career move.

Fastest retrofit to VFX for an experienced software engineer?
Posted in: Professional Career Advice!I am a software engineer with 15 years of work experience, 4 of them writing tools in Python that saved one company $1M, and the rest in C/C++.
Right now I am taking a graduate course in CGI/Animation using Maya, and I find that I like it a LOT. Although I am by no means an artist (although I do decent modelling work due to some CAD background) I have noticed that studios have a use for workflow automators and tools developers.
Should I go in at intern or entry level just like everyone else? Or will I be turned away from every door for not being in my 20’s? I had even thought of being an independent vendor to plug-ins and tools, but what does the VFX/animation world need most?
Thanks in advance for your advice!
The Eternal Squire
I’ve always worked staff but now my taxes have gotten pretty complicated. So I’m looking for someone to help prepare last year’s and advise me for the future.
and also what are set of jobs does a TD do from junior level to senior ?
i do know many would have asked this question several times before but let me make things clear . I would like u guys to suggest me the best places to study VFX in Canada or US . My interest lies mainly in order of vfx compositing , Dynamic effects , modelling and animation ( not rigging characters like stuff) of now. And i have no prob with long courses if it doesnt costs much and i do consider cash as factor.
I have my bachelors in science and right now doing a course in vfx in India as i thought my field of interest certainly lies in vfx and would like to expose to global standards.. waiting for ur suggestions….
