example01.mp4 to example01.mov
2- Read your .MOV file in nuke

If you have probles with the pixel aspect ratio
go to viewer properties (leave mouse in the viewer & type S on the keyboard)
then check ignore pixel aspect

I went with FBX (not my favorite, but Nuke seems to support it pretty well). I basically did a geometry cache on a moving figure, applied to a set, exported FBX with set selected for animation.
It worked, the model came in to Nuke and animated, but it was really, really slow updating from frame to frame.
I then read that it might be an ascii vs binary thing, so I downloaded the autodesk converter and made my fbx binary. Indeed it’s a little faster, but not great.
I’m trying to see if this could be a valid tool for, say, bringing in a match move to Nuke and skipping rendering out of a 3D package… but right now it’s too slow and not viable.
Anyone else have any experiences with this?
PS the model was a really low poly count, so I doubt it was that.
I have a project that requires luma keying of black. There is a lot of hair detail in the shot. I can get a great key for the alpha channel, maintaing all the detail for the hair. The problem is the black spill around the hair. Because the hair is so thin it is left with a lot of black edges. Is there a way to suppress this? Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated.
Thanks in advance.

I’m looking for a basic python script to open a linux (centos) shell.
it shall only open a shell and paste a text (from a node for example) in the shell.
anyone any idea?
thanks
I really need your help again,
I have a future project this spring. The scene takes place in NYC Central Park (wide open field). In this field are about 100 people with Guns. Some standing, some running, some walking. Most likely, I will have about 10 extras that I want close to the camera. I plan on filling the background with duplicates of the 10 extras.
My question is:
How would you handle this shot?
Thanks,
Lou
Nuke saves autosave files in the same folder that you’ve saved the project but if you haven’t saved yet, I have no idea where they go.
Nuke crashes. You open it back up expected the "autosave script for Untitled-1 found, do you want to restore it?" dialog box to come it.
It doesn’t. You’ve just wasted a whole morning’s work.
Am I missing something here?
Shake may not have had an undo but since autosave doubled as an undo, I think I preferred Shake in this one respect. But then I did just lose a morning’s work.
I have a projection setup for a difficult removal. Its working fine until i reach a frame where i want to animate the roto to cover a different area. When viewing the projection and adjusting the roto moves but does not create a new keyframe, also if i try from its settings they are greyed out.
I tried viewing the roto before it is fed to the project3D node and im able to adjust it then but that doesnt help me out because i cant see what im doing and even then it doesnt work correctly.
Im using Nuke6.2, is this a known bug?
Cheers
I have a 3D cube that’s tracking well in the shot, but I would like it to cast a shadow or occlude a plane so you can see the contact. I don’t want the plane to render anything but the shadow cast by the cube.
Is there a decently easy way to do this? I’m probably overlooking something very obvious. 😀
The other option I thought of was just using a rotopaint ‘shadow’ as the texture for the plane.
Thanks!
