Best way to view image during spill suppress?

Hey guys,

I seem to have a lot of trouble seeing the more subtle green spill during suppression that other people can see quite easily :/ I think I might have a slight bit of color blindness which seems to put me at a disadvantage during spill suppression 🙁 Is there a way to view footage in a way to make it easy to spill suppress? Like viewing everything except shades of green in black and white or something at all that will make it easier? Strengthening the greens temporarily till I spill suppress?

Any help would be much appreciated!

expression to limit random value between 0.8 to 1.3 for flickering effetcs….

I want to influence a fade node to flicker slightly. I am trying to write an expression for my CC node gain that will generate this by randomly setting the value between 0.8 to 1.3

I hope this is clear.

Thanks in advance…:):)

Particle Turbulence Evolve?

Hi, I was just wondering if there was a way to evolve the particle turbulence node. Thanks

Image area not acting as expected.

So I have a plate that is 4480×1920, and I try to comp in an image that is 2240×960. It is to be comped in the background & out of focus, distorted etc, and subject to the larger image’s alpha. Easy enough.

But, I attach both images to a Merge(over) node and find that the image area now only displays a small part of the 2240×1920 image, it’s like the image is cropped to the size of the smaller image. I try to set the Merge node to accept metadata from the larger image (which is input A), but I don’t see any effect.

It’s this kind of annoyance that’s making it difficult to "simply work" as I did in Shake. Reading the Nuke documentation seems to imply that I’m already doing what I need to, but obviously I’m not. Anyone know what I’m talking about and have any common knowledge to impart? 🙂

Kindest regards

Hi
I was looking some gizmos that reproduce the digital noise from alexa, red , d5 cameras …

any idea?

ZBlur for DoF on Particles

I’ve made some stationary particle ‘strings’ and trying to a get variation in the depth of field through the shot using Zblur.

Testing Zblur on a card rotated 45 degrees through the scene is giving me a nice gradual blur around the focal point … but all my particles seem to be blurring by the the same amount from from-to-back / start-finish.

The particles do actually have depth in 3D space, but I’m not sure if I’m actually getting depth information from them to ZBlur. Apologies if this is a dumb question, still new to Nuke 6.3’s particle system.

STMap and Edges?

Hi all!

I recently tried to use the UV Pass to stick some kind of logo or similiar to an already rendered image. It works so far great, but I always get this strange edges on the image after combining both elements. It doesn´t matter if the image has been rendered with or without motion blur.
I attached an example, where you can see the strange edges at the "geometry edges".

Am I doing something wrong?

Thx a lot,
Dez

Hi,
how to achieve this without creating a new scene without lights? Some python scripts?
Thanks in advance.

pftrack to nuke tutorial

hi all,

again, i’v scoured the forums and the internet and can’t seem to find an answer to my most simple of questions.

i have footage that i tracked in pftrack, then created a nuke python script via the pftrack export.

my question is, what the heck do i do with that in nuke? i go to my read node and bring in the .py file, but then what? how does the tree look? is a merge node used? do i have to setup a camera first? im completely at a loss as to how these my .mov clip and .py track combine together.
