Trouble with gizmo syntax…

I’m having some difficulty working out the syntax for an equation in a gizmo. Basically, I want to do this:

(a-b)/2

Using the root first and last frames, I can make the following work (this is in a read node, hence the "last" at the beginning):

last root.last_frame-root.first_frame

But when I add in the rest, it fails:

last (root.last_frame-root.first_frame)/2

Can anyone help me? I’ve been trying to find a solution using different types of brackets, using spaces, etc, and I can’t work it out.

Nuke Masterclass movies out.

Running Nuke from a Mac Terminal (Bash Shell)

Hi Nuke Forum,

I’m using an intel Macbook Pro with OSX 10.4.11

Simply, I am trying to run a render only license of Nuke from a Mac Terminal (Bash Shell) and it will not run. It is a non GUI Nuke license purely for running scripts and commands. It is not for compositing.

I always get the error "-bash: nuke: command not found"

At the prompt I have tried:
1) nuke THEN GET "-bash: nuke: command not found"
2)
Nuke THEN GET "-bash: Nuke: command not found"
3) nuke5.1v3 THEN GET "-bash: nuke5.1v3: command not found"
4) Nuke5.1v3 THEN GET "-bash: Nuke5.1v3: command not found"

If I type Shake at the command line….I can boot Shake?

In saying that I am not expecting to see the Nuke interface, I am expecting it to execute the command(s) I place after, as you would if you were to run Shake [command1][command2] etc

Any thoughts or suggestions?

Nuke, Maya & PFTrack Scales

Am testing for a job at the moment.

Shot a test scene in a studio with tracking markers on the wall at 1m intervals.
Tracked and solved in PFTrack, with correct filmback and lens focal length.
Scaled the scene in PFTrack, measuring between 2 points and making that distance 1m.
Exported from PFTrack as a Nuke scene, which opens nicely into Nuke, with a very nifty point cloud (of nulls) you can attatch to the scene file as reference.

Imported a Maya fbx of the yet-to-be-built sets, made lifesize, ie 1m is 1m.
BUT, I’m having to reduce the fbx to 20% of it’s size to apparently fit the PFTrack exported scene, not what I expected.
What ‘gotcha’ am I missing here, as in my mind the scales should match?
Is the PFTrack or Maya scene scale wrong?

thanks in advance

reading out pixel values

i have a question
is it possible to read out a pixel value of the red-channel at a specific position like x100 y100 with an expression.
the value should be linked to a spinner that updates automatically on every frame.

thanks for your help

annoying bug?

Has anyone noticed this in nuke 5.1v3?
Whenever i enter a value in the parameters box, when i’m done i click enter or click somewhere in the node space to deselect the box.
But then when I try to toggle my viewer, it enters 1’s into the parameters box and thus setting the value way too high.
I’m on OSX btw
