My question is how come the footage shifts from it’s original position?
If I render a frame in the viewer (heavy 3D scene, lots of deformed cards and stuff), Nuke uses all cores – and is therefor pretty fast. Yet when I write this frame, Nuke uses only one core.. and well, performance goes to hell (in a way). How come? I read in another thread that sometimes it’s because of multi threading being enabled / disabled; however, I didn’t notice any difference there.
I know that the bottle neck for Nuke is the actual disk speed, so that’s an issue I have to fix (maybe a SSD or a decent sata..). What I’m not sure about is this: Do I have to install Nuke on the SSD, or is it OK if I just set the cache to SSD? Also, does it matter so much if the project data itself is on a SATA or should it be on the SSD as well? I’m asking ’cause.. well, you know, SSD prices and stuff..
Another thing is the good ol’ OpenGL issue.. the terminal says "unrecognised open gl version". Now that’s a slap in the face, what did I buy the latest graphics card for?
I’d be very glad if someone could give some advice or feedback on this topic

node.knob(‘matrix’).setValue() –> only set the first row of the matrix. Any special indexing needed ? i tried couple array index pattern but no luck.
Does anyone have any idea ?
I’d like to write the frame #s of my output to correspond with the timecode of the shot, using the typical DI scheme of 01:00:00:00 = 86400.
Nuke is reading the timecode of the shot correctly (as seen with the viewmetadata node), but I cant figure out how to get this into the filenaming string.
Also is there anyway to display the timecode of the shot as opposed to the frame # is the viewer?
Thanks in advance!

I can do some algorithm for getting the 3d traslation quiet easy but need a lot of work for doing the rotation , as combining rotation will need quite complex matrices calculation. so if anyone know any usable gizmo/nuke-python script to do that , pls help . I’ve tried nukepedia/creativecrash but haven’t got one .
Thanx
SilhouetteFX – Add points
Posted in: NUKE from The FoundryAlso, I know by holding alt when I click on my most recent Bezier node it gets rid of the natural curve and makes the next node linear, is this the proper way to do this? For instance, if I have a very extreme curve, that then goes into a flat part and I want to have a Bezier node not take into consideration the natural curve it wants to use to connect the next node?
If that makes sense…
Video – Image Sequences?
Posted in: NUKE from The FoundryFrom what I understand Nuke/Silh don’t read VIDEOS per say, they just read sequences of images? is that correct?
Is there any easy way, or a way using the Adobe Creative Suite to convert say, a wmv/avi/mpeg file into an importable file in Nuke/Silh?
Since there is no "File > Import" in Nuke, I’m assuming you would just create a Read node and load the media into that?
(Hard to find an answer to such a simple question online. Tried!)
animimating text, a clock
Posted in: NUKE from The FoundryI was wondering if anyone could help me with some text animation scripting.
I basically want to animate a clock going from 00.00 to 00.00 again 24 hours later and be able to adjust over how many frames this will happen.
Also I would like to animate something like rpm so a standard counter from say 1000 to 3500 over a number of frames.
Is this possible somehow?
cheers

I have an interlaced stereoscopic clip that i want to convert to anaglyph using the same depth and convergence etc…(not just a cheap anaglyph conversion)…
I have the clip as interlaced and I also have the sequence for the left eye and the right eye.
is there any way of doing this in nuke or another software?
thanks everyone in advance.:)
