It’s an issue that seems to pop up when using Vista Business 64-bit SP1 with any version of drivers from nVidia. When resizing the interface, the main window flickers black. An obvious problem that I cannot seem to remedy. I have two systems that I have tested this nagging issue on and both yield the same result.
My two systems are:
1. HP xw8600 – Quadro FX 5600 – 16GB RAM
2. Dell Dimension 9200 – Quadro FX 1400 – 4GB RAM
(both with clean installs of Vista Business x64 SP1)
There was only one scenario which worked and that was using the Windows Driver on the Dell system. When I used the driver provided from Windows (Quadro FX 1400 (Microsoft Corporation – WDDM) the issue was resolved as you can see in the "good link" below, but it doesn’t help resolve the issue due to the limitations of the older and less featured driver (no nVidia control panel). Also this was not a solution for the HP system as windows could not provide a suitable driver.
I have attached video links to better explain my problem. The bad link shows the issue at hand and the good link shows the working scenerio (the goal).
This was never an issue in Windows XP 32-bit and 64-bit using any of the available drivers from nVidia.
I have tried turning off every option in the nVidia control panels without any success.
I have two requests from users who might take the time in posting a response, is there a solution? and second users who run Vista x64, so you have the same black flicker on window resize?
Thanks
Steven
